jem1964: How does David Koresh not apply? Because he was a cult leader? Didnt he invoke the name of God on his behalf? Arent the kids he abused just as important as any one else?
What about The Brethren for another religious group who has abused kids in more than just one way. There are many other instances both in Australia and over seas that you dont hear about because sometimes they come to monetary agreements with the kids/families to keep it quiet. Cases that dont get to court because of the trauma that the kids have to go through, and the lawyers deliberately play that card.
I am not protecting the catholic faith, just repeatedly saying that they are not the only ones that should be held up to investigation.
No child should be abused, it doesnt matter who the abuser is they should be brought to justice. To say only one group hides the misdemeanors of a few is to be naive
Why do you think I mentioned Koresh for I knew you had nothing in your defence to support those claims. Cults have a very short life “usually” yes, I know the orange people have been resurrected and scientology is still around as well as Ralfalians.
Jem the Rimo catholic church has been around since the TREE hundreds hiding behind the astablishment.

AgentAjax: I think that’s a different issue don’t you think Merri? And I appreciate you translating Jams thoughts into plain words so can get the gist of things.
No, AA... I was not off topic... Our organisation comes under the Umbrella of the Uniting Church... and we have the victims of the Mulligan report encouraged to come for counselling, and also, we have another program which is related to the APY lands, and Paper tracker, we have people employed trying to make it all work out...
