Welcome to parenthood. rolling on the floor laughing
I have observed that new mothers usually have some sort of psychotic episode at three months, due to sleep deprivation. Seriously.
The good news is that your experience is normal. That is also the bad news. rolling on the floor laughing

Ahhhh! I think I remember back in those days confused lack of sleep , may I suggest when baby is having naps during the day you have one or two during the day while baby is , it will help you cope a bit better. sleep yawn Congrats on your new baby. It will improve as baby gets older and sleeps through the night. peace

Have you tried holding your baby close to your chest so it can hear your heart beat, this is the second time you have raised this difficulty.

You might try going to bed with baby in your arms, ensure it doesn't need burping, feed if necessary and hold close to your chest, might find baby will relax

Everyone can offer different advise - and all are valid, providing bubs wants to play the game... and babies have a mind of their own...

1. is baby breast or bottle - if bottle check flow rate of teat, you may have to slow or fasten milk flow -

2. Gripe water if it is still available in chemists - it is safe and gentle - pharmist or assistant will advise you the amount you need to put in baby's formulae

3. After feeding, bath baby, turn baby on tummy using your hand as support - baby will kick and carrying on like they do in the womb - whater is causing pain, will ease it.. change baby, and put to sleep - have you a musical mobile - one that plays for 5 mins or more...

4. when baby asleep, turn off mobiles, disconnect landline, put a sign on door and lie on lounge or go to bed and stay there - don't worry about house work...

Thank gawd for the maternal and child course - it has saved my bacon more times than I care to remember when raising my 4...

5. A good neighbour or friend will come to your aid... Ask!!!

having twice acted something akin to mother to two new born, my view on burping is either place your baby over your shoulder laying on its stomach and part baby quite heavily on his/her back

better still sit in a chair with baby face down over your legs laying on its stomach and part baby quite heavily on his/her back

Last sons birth a home birth with two midwives, straight after baby’s arrival both mother and baby laid in body temperature bath, and baby promptly flung his arms out wide and giggled

that might settle it to

Ask someone, a friend, neighbour, family member to come over and give you a break? Usually they are only too happy to help, they only have a few hours shift where you have 24/7?? sleep They are just waiting for the chance to hold that little bundle for a while?

It's amazing what a few hours break - and a good sleep can make such a difference??

And - IF, that's just IF you ever feel like you are loosing control, just walk out of the room, leave the crying baby, let them cry for another minute or two, just chill out, take a few deep breaths, have a smoke, listen to your favourite song, whatever - and all those thoughts you may have will just disappear. That's advice I was given - and I used it when I felt at the end of my tether! very mad And it worked teddybear

Best of luck tutorgirl, it does get better. I remember the first time my son slept for 6 hrs at night, I felt like I could conquer Mt Everest!! wave hug cheering

Congrats dear girl. Welcome to being a parent.cheering

And NO, it is not easy from either side.

My only advise is that you sleep when she is asleep. You have a resonsibility that you have made the choice to undertake. Sounded good at the time but........
