May not be fair. But it works both ways,
There are a lot of Australians that work overseas,

Professional women who want to further their career have no choice but to work overseas.

A lot of Australians may not want the mine life.
My son in law works contract at mines and he is away 2 weeks and home for 1 week. With travel to and from work he is left with 5 days to spent at home.
My brother works at the mines as well,he does 4 on 4 off, travel included in the 4 days.
Then you have the health factor if working in coal industry.underground were my brother is the air quality is not great and a lot of the guys are proun to chest infections and alike.
Money is great yer but lot of years underground does play havoc with you health.
My uncle was killed in a under ground mine explosion, are the risk really worth it.

A TV report the other day stated that our Navy was leaving to take up mining jobs in Aus. I don't get it as you have unemployment just like here
