My brother had a problem of his Toyota Trayback thingy ($75,000 new) where after 1/2 hour running, would have nothing. Turned out to be something in the elctronic accelerator system - they don't all have cables or linkages these days.

Another problem that isn't as noticable now as 10 years ago was using the cheap fuel that the cars are not designed to use. My daughter's Polo (now) and Focus (before) always go much better when she filled up with the Premium fuel. And she got a lot further on each tank, ended up costing about the same overall but it went so much better. But for her short hops to work, she uses the cheap stuff. And notices the difference.

It could be due to a governor! All off the trucks at work die out at 100kms,

It’s a safety thing as in that size car you wouldn’t want too hit anything doing more than 60km,

Could say the same thing as my Peugot has a speed limiter. But I do have to turn it on each time. Saved many a speeding fine by knowing that I won't go over the limit. thumbsup:

Maybe the Suzuki has one installed and it is faulty.::confused:

I had to drive one off the managers cars at SGIO a few years back now , it would ring a bell when you did over 100kms. So I asked him about it and he said that was normal,
So I then asked does it normally play jingle bells? As I was doing over 120kms,

I then added drive them like you stole them!

The first and most obvious place to take the car would be the Suzuki dealer.
The most logical thing to look at is fuel starvation, most likely from a faulty fuel pump. Leave it to the dealer. It would be highly likely that other examples of the Ignis have had similar problems, so the dealer should know straight away what the problem is.

Dont drive over 99km ;)

Anyway, I reckon the best option would be the Suzuki dealership.

A few questions that arise are: How long is she driving for? Might be something else and not because of hitting a 'critical' speed.

Did it drive perfectly before? What happend prior to having the issue?

Cruise control?
Overheating?

Thanks for the advice/help everyone but in a word - I AM TOTALLY OVER IT!

After going thru' the ins and outs of it, her mates dad was going to take it to the dealership for her, nothing has happened, she is driving the old Camry station wagon in the mean time-yep, the one she wouldn't have for free! Now her brother has come home tonight and wants the Camry because ........ yep his car needs something doing to it.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh frustrated frustrated frustrated

How come we have got 5 cars between 3 people and the only 2 on the road are mum's?? laugh drinking doh confused drinking

I am seriously thinking of leaving home rolling on the floor laughing

Change the fuel filter. They're a cheap fix and I'd say by your description, the problem is fuel starvation. conversing
