I am thinking of getting a new Aircon' at the moment I have a LG box type for the whole house its in the lounge room but the heating and cooling flow's down the hallway and does a pretty good job for all of my 15 square home'BUT' its so damn noisy and very expensive to run.

Harvey Norman have a sale on and the Aircon reverse cycle Inverters seem a very good price and because we are selling up I dont want to spend a lot.

I know I will need a larger one like 7 to 8 kw's and the prices range from Kelvinator 7 kw cooling and 7.4 kw heating for $999 after $250 cashback.

Or an E-ION Air Purifying Panasonic 7.1kw cool and 8kw heat$1299 after the $250 cashback.

The Fujitsu is 6.6cool and 8kw heat $1649 after $250 cashback.
Now if we were going to stay here I would be going for the Fujitsu
but including installation its another $600 to $800 on top of these prices.

Have you got any of the above mentioned makes... I like the sound of the Panasonic and have always liked the brand but dont know about its Aircons.

I would really appreciate any advice on this.dunno confused

Becaaue my home has cathedral ceilings and is fairly open, I opted to installing 2 of the inverter ones so they work independantly and bought a larger size so they do no overwork themselves on the hottest days. Okay, cost a bit but doesn't seem much different to the prices you are quoting (had free installation instead of cashback).

I don't think there is too much difference in any of them now, it is a very competitive market. And a decent air-con would be a plus when selling.

Gas is still cheep for heating here, but when I get air-con it will be evaporative ducting so all rooms are cooled. The nephew had his place done for three thousand two years ago by breeze-air , a split system inverted would never do what I want in this house, so they would be a waste off money, I have an open plan living home so there is no split system yet invented that could do the job, plus with all the windows and doors I have there is nowhere to put them? So ducting is my only option, but I would never use harvey norman, ring a few places and get a few free quotes at too what you do need rather than trying to do it yourself?

I have a split system reverse cycle installed in the bedroom and living area in the ceiling looks way better than the ones on the wall. Works better too more even heat and cooler through the house. Cost was $3.000 buy and install. brand is Fujitsu very happy with it and my power bill is good thumbs up

Thanks for your advice Guys will keep it in mind and I will check around first' I think I will try and get a price to buy and install Curly'also what size KW do you have in your home?.

This house is perfect for a split system as the old box cools and heats the whole house where it is situated so the new one should be ok as well if I put it in the same place.
