I am all for re-habilitation,especially of someone so young but if he at leasts shows some remorse, apologises, tries in some ways to make amends - and not as some do and thumb their noses or gives the middle finger outside the courts when they have got away with it?

Having spent many a day as a 12yo living through many a bushfire lit by someone else (I always managed to keep mine within limits), we would get a kick up the backside from everyone affected if we lost control of a fire.
Simple fact that it about time that parents were held responsible for their children's actions.

Was burning off blackberries as a 12yo and it got out of control, jumped the creek and threatened properties there.
However, this kid broke into a house and got petrol to get a good fire front going - he obviously had malicious intentions. Little runt.

I know it goes against all social justices, but he should be made to look through all the photos from Black Saturday, including the people and animals. Maybe he will then realise the affect of a little fire on the real world.
