Having recently had my hair cut very short after an operation on a BCC on my scalp, I struggled to like my appearance. I couldn't wait to grow my hair back and it took ages. What's your preference - short or long? Should your age determine the length of your hair? What do the blokes prefer?

Hi Lilee wave your hair looks just fine in your foto. thumbs up

I haven't had my hair long since I was 15yo, mainly because it is naturally wavy and bugs the hell out of me once it gets past my neck!! frustrated

I like longer hair, been seeing a lot of Hilary Clinton on the news lately, she has grown her hair quite long and I like it, she seems to be able to do a lot with it. teddybear

Your hair lokks lovely just the way it is. I think you have answered my question. Whatever suits you and you feel confident with is fine :)

Personally, I have always had a preference for long dark hair.

Being a natural dark wavy haired person growing up in Cronulla with a brother and sister being blue-eyed blondes, I hated my hair.

And never been a fan of the blondes (jealousy).

Ex #1 was longish dark hair when I met her and married her. She would get it cut and permed into tight little curls, made it easier to look after. And then get narked because I would not say that I liked it.

I have always liked long hair, and have kept mine at a reasonable length over the years. Okay, a ponytail does make older guys look old but that is me. And I still have it (or most of it).

But having had to have someone else wash my hair recently and decided I needed a trim, the hairdresser cut off a bit more than I normally like. And ended up with lots of compliments.frustrated I like my hairhelp

End all and be all, it is what you are happy with that really matters.banana

Yes, I think you hair looks fine...thumbs up

I like mine short on one side and long on the other... and short for winter and long for summer..

Which is what I do, so that I can pull it back and up for summer.. but I have dead straight hair, and quite a lot of it...

Always used to have my hair long, was a dark brunette but easier to have it shoulder length now and ash blonde tips so blends with the gray' anyway only a few over sixty ladies can get away with long hair and I am not one of them. frustrated moping

Oh Martia,

I tried the bleach look last summer, and bit by bit, i am going back to dark, I really dont suit blonde.. and what's worse, the bleaching made it go all dry and yukky, so no more bright ideas for me..

sigh

But there is this beaut product which makes your hair really bouncy and healthy, and I have used tons of that...

Finally got the bounce back... yay

Merri, the darker look suits you much better than the blonde. Blondes may have more fun but dark is more mysterious and attractive.

laugh

Its a product I get from my hairdress,

called

Mythic Oil.. by L'oreal Professionnel

You wash your hair as normal, conditioner etc, then towel it, and put about ( for my length) a dollar coin size dollop on your hands, and rub it in..

Conditioners to make it brilliant and bouncy...

but I also use

"Static Free FM" Broadcast shine spritz from the ATV design network..

adds that shine that makes it sparkle... grin

I know, I know... I like hair products big time... laugh

Merriweather: Hi Martia, I guess that I buy what my hairdresser recommends.. lol

I guess by trying out different products, we get a measure of what works for ourselves.. and sometimes its good and sometimes not,.. but hey, that 's the fun of it..

but if you want to talk tanning lotions, I can go all day with those too...

Too many years of being in the bling world...

400km from the nearest hairdressers. been there 1 in 6 mths ... so seriously neglected hair lol. the biggest problem i have is the bore water for the township seems to dry out the ends of my hair. in 2 days i have oily scalp. When i go home to QLD hair goes back to normal. Its mid shoulder length now and its easy to keep tidy.
