I think you'll be about 5yrs late for this one sorry. You did however get me excited about a possible catch up with everyone. We will have to organise one for next year. applause

Well, I guess Melbourne is only about 4 days drive from here, or about a 4 hour plane trip. Makes perfect sense to go to that effort to meet fat people twice my age.

Yes, so true. I used to go to the melbourne meets every 3 months. Loved it. We also went to Brissy and Adelaide. Such a great group back then. Hopefully we can get it happening again but maybe also branch out to smaller towns too. wink cheering

How slow do you drive. Takes me 2 days to drive from the other side of Melbourne to Cairns. It's all about the adventure!!! grin So worth it if it is as good as the old days. cheers yay

With only one driver? Last year I drove from Theodore to Mission beach, took a day and I was completely fried at the end... Many years ago, 3 of us drove Sydney to Cairns in a few days... Maybe 46hrs wheel time, but I still doubt 2 days.teddybear

Yes, solo driver but 2 young kids at the time (yes, one of those Mums with 2 - 15 kids). Always taken me 2 days to Cairns and took me 3 days to Perth but only 2 and a half back from Perth. I love driving. I don't sleep much when I travel.

Hmm, 2 coffee breaks, 44 hours continuous driving, 2 young kids, the inland route would average just over 70 k's. But you obviously went the coast road so thats another 700km added.

Sorry, physically not possible .

Maybe we will have to take a road trip one day. Coffee breaks are only about a half hour. I only sleep for 3hrs. Kids slept while I drove. Very possible!!! kiss

Kids slept 45 hours continuously (sorry I overestimated your entire breaks for the 3500km journey as being 2 hours), and you drove continuously (no fuel stops or rest stops/toilet breaks at all)... Didnt slow down for any of the towns/cities you drove through/roadworks/ranges...

I feel you may have miscalculated somewhere, I generally drive like a complete tool way over the speed limit, and wouldnt be able to make anything like that time.
