afghanistan has always been a country of small kingdoms run by warlords from as far back as the 11th century they fight among themselves because they know no other way of life,no country on earth is going to defeat the toughest soldiers the world has ever encountered,even though they fight among themselves, if they are invaded as they are now and have been on and off, they unite as one to drive out the invaders,and they succeed every time.They are best left alone ,and jmo america and all the nato forces should be concentrating on the stupidly run government of pakistan where all the fanatics seem to thrive

Afghanistan is, and always has been a stuffed up country! They are too backward to ever change! If we can keep American CIA out off there they may survive? 911 an inside job! A war for the banks off the USA, time to wakeup people! We cant keep going to war for US banks to make a profit?

Yes, the Northern Alliance has merged into current Government and military and dominate there. For some reason, probably due to hatred, Bush administration left Pashtoons(largest ethnic group in Afghanistan) completely out of the government after fall of taliban. That forced Pashtoons to support taliban and that led to re-emergence of taliban sometime in 2004/2005.
This was one of America's many failures in Afghanistan and that's the reason they keep blaming Pakistan for re-emergence of taliban to cover up their own mistakes.
