Chooks are great weeders but will eat your veg and wreck most of your other plants too.I use them when a patch is finished they cleanup and fert at the same time.But planing your garden is most important .....plan on no weeds

They like to have me plant all these rubbish plants constantly ingarden that have no place and invade and make my gardening for them nightmare.The asparagus is gone and think it hates the clay soil.As for grass grubs there pain to,think I will get poutry and have them eat all the weeds but worry they will eat all the veges.

Doesn't sound like you have a great deal of experience in gardening , of course the chooks will eat the delish plants long before the weeds
but they are excellent at leaving garden with good manure and turning the soil all that scratching around Maybe let them run a muck in garden area and when they're finished fence off and start planting

I weed once or twice per week, although this place is a sandpit a bucket off weeds each week is better than what the guy across the road has to put up with? He has let his weeds go and only weeds once every few months, he spent two hours weeding just last night till he filled his 240lt bin up and it doesn’t look any different out the front of his place? Too little too late! You have too keep on top of gardening or it will get on top of you!
Thank you for feedback on gardening.I have good ideas on gardening crop rotation and all this but get told what to do even if not best advice.So annoying.I hope to finish tommorow and tke plants out in there thru chooks into waste the grass grubs and keep them chooks out there terrible when they get in garden,though long as theres plenty of grubs in garden they tend to leave plants alone.Ducks are better they seem to go more just for pests in garden to chooks and duck egss are great for baking especially pavalovas etc.
Lots of mulch works for me
