I have learnt - not to go to work without a pair of glasses! blues I usually have them everywhere, I have a couple of good pairs of prescription ones, but I can get away with the cheap readers for out and about?

Can't see close up, got away with it for first couple of hours but had to take a 92 yo to a doctor's appt and knew I would need my 'readers' doh

Ducked in shopping centre, oops first need to go to ATM for some cash?

Yep, this is easy, can see these big buttons, went thru the withdrawal/amount/ do you want a receipt??

Spat my card out - NO MONEY, NO RECEIPT! Aaaaaah! What do I do dunno

I can't leave the ATM cos someone else might get my $200??sigh

Long story short, got on phone to Help Centre, had to ask a stranger to read my card no help good, no record of $200 withdrawal. Try again??

Good idea? What's that message? "This ATM is unoperational" doh doh frustrated

Make a mental note, "take at least one of the 20 pairs of specs in the house and put in car!" idea

I have to check the colour of my hair sometimes australia

I am only new too glasses, so please excuse my ignorance, as I am longsighted but my heath insurance paid for my two pair of prescription glasses free off charge, I don’t go out the house now without my glasses, I don’t need them for driving which I do all-day, but I need them to read the computers in the truck, plus the gages and use the cameras too see the screens, plus the maps for that days round, yes a guy that can read maps! Who doesn’t need to ask for directions ,

So how if you need to ware glasses did you forget to put them on your head before you left home?

But it is so hard to drive with reading glasses on and try to keep the road in focus.

I look over my glasses when driving and when I look down I can read the instrument panels, my job is very basic but highly technical at the same time. Just driving on the left hand side all day can be challenging for some, knowing where you are and where you have been on the maps can also get difficult,
The glasses on then off approach is far too time consuming in my job, and I have a great job! As when I finish my round, the rest off the day is mine, I just have to park the truck up at the depot, after I have done my shopping and stuff.

Blizzard I only need glasses for close up reading therefore I can't wear them driving, don't need them to read any instruments in car while driving and I usually know where I am going or work it out before I even get in car thumbs up

If I wear my glasses inside or around the house I bump into walls and things so I just hang them of the front of my shirt. That's why I buy the cheap readers from the newsagents - I only need them for a short time when I am out so they work and if they get lost/damaged not lost much.

I keep my 'good' ones for home and book reading? thumbs up

It was a wet ghastly day and I just got my new glasses. I accidentally dropped and ran my car over the glasses. To my surprise the glasses did not break only the frame bent. I quickly went back to the optomerist and he gently straightened them. I still wear them now. I am relieved that glasses are made from flexible material.

Hi Prowler,

That is a good thing... you have that which can be fixed by lazer..

Its terrible having to wear glasses to see things up close.. but lately, I notice that I prefer to wear mine when I am at home... I realise I was not seeing miniscule particles of dirt... and that was bad... laugh

Yes, I had dust... and find I could not see little splatters of whatever it is on the kitchen cupboards.. disgusting... !!!!!

blushing
Considering I rarely if ever cook, I have neglected to inspect ...up the very top of the cupboards where the dust settles.. damn... uh oh

I am going to make paper templates to put up there so that I can just throw out the paper every six months or so...

I need my glasses to see clearly. So most chores are done without them. otherwise I will trip over something when I have them on because everything is fuzzy. Every now and again, I get a clean plate out the cupbord and see what I missed when washing up.frustrated frustrated More washing up.

The top of cupboards is done every spring. Or when I get something down and realise how dusty it is. Used to have my large pots stored up there but new kitchen has planety of room. Just ran my finger along and it is cleanbanana
