Although I am an atheist, I do believe Jesus was a real person. I think there are enough writings and other evidence to prove that.
Just the same as L. Ron Hubbard was a real person. Look at Hubbard and see how easy it really is to start a new religion. Or Bhuddha, or Confucious for that matter.
If you are genuinely trying to make an informed and educated personal decision as to what to believe, and not just trying to provoke a heated debate to ensure a long thread. May I suggest a book by Josh McDowell called "Evidence that Demands a Verdict". I found it fascinating and very well documented.It was so well read numerous printings have been published. I believe there was also a follow up simply called "More Evidence that Demands a Verdict". The latter I have not as yet read.

Blizz, there is a lot of documented evidence around that Jesus did exist. And that a lot of the things written in the Bible did occur. But most of it was written well after the events happened and so memories may have been a bit blurred.
The Catholic Church had to more or less follow what had been written by the Jews for the Old Testament as it was very widespread when they started getting their act together.
And then it was a fight between the Augustines and the Franciscans (the dominant Church players in early times) about what the New Testament should contain. All depended on who the Pope was at the time.
And if you look at some of the other religions going, they do recognise Jesus. Krishna and Mohammed both recognise him in their writings.
So "Yes" he did most likely exist. Did he do all those miracles?
Did "The Jackel" do all those "hits" that he is credited for?
Did James Bond really do everything written about him? Ian Fleming did base a lot of his stuff on fact.
But sometimes fantasy does make a good script and so the Bible may have a few embelishments to strengthen the story. And there are quite a few unreliable translations over the years but the Bible as we know it today (okay, I still have St James versions and there are a couple of more recent versions) is what is accepted by Christian religions today.

Yet there is not one record in the Roman records off him ever existing on the censes or even the town off Nazareth? But word for word has been copied from the Egyptian text? That is now called the bible?

That is an interesting question.
If you go to YouTube you will find a three-hour documentary called Jesus: the evidence.
It was broadcast about 25 years ago and then buried because the Christian churches used their political influence.
To anyone who is interested in history and in particular the history of Christianity I recommend it highly.
Rabbinical scholars put up some interesting points of view and arguments.
They argue rather persuasively that Yashua (his real name) was not the man as portrayed in the gospels and was certainly not the figure as revered by Christianity.

If you read the Bible, John the Baptist was called by many as The Messiah, which he vehemently denied, just said he was preparing the way for the True Messiah.
If you read the Bible. Mary was "in child" at the time she was betrothed to Joseph. And he did consider divorcing her except he had a dream which changed his mind. But immediately after the birth of Jesus (was supposed to be called Emmanuel - part of the dream), Joseph and Mary took off for Egypt to get away from Herod who had spoken to the 4 Wise men who told him about the King of Jews and did not want the competion.
When Herod died, Joseph returned to Nazareth, not Jeruselum or Galilee, because Herod's son was on the throne and he still had doubts about someone wanting to kill his son.
If you by any chance get to read the book of Malachi Ch 4 you might get a hint of what Christianity should have been. I do agree that the Bible has been used for peoples 'profit' in many ways. And it was the Fransiscans who had the greatest influence on what the New Testmanet contained.
The Catholic priests where very smart in turning many pagan ceremonies into Christian ceremonies, especially the Irish ones, which made it easier for them to convert people to Christianity. Plagarism at its highest form, and it has worked.

He became a great Leader and created a new religion---Christianity, which exists still today.It has surpassed the duration of time. Christianity is also included in our calender---Xmas and Easter. Being such a great person,he was killed by mankind.

I believe that all mankind killed him---not just the Jews or the Romans, but all of us, probably because we didn't really believe him or even understand him or even his teachings. In other words we failed.He surpassed time memorial.

I believe all prophets are "sons of God". God usually sends one approx every 500-1000 years. Hence why we have so many religions. This includes Buddism, Hinduism etc etc. The most recent is the prophet Baha'u'llah, born 200years ago. A Persian----not Muslim. The new religion or Faith is called Baha'i. Very peaceful people and they do not believe in killing people. Also another one is spiritualism, these people actually get in touch with some spirits from our dead ancestors.I am not sure how they do this. They are also helpful people. They also believe in God.
Most of prophets or Sons of God, have become great leaders and many have written many scriptures. I feel we need to unveil our blinkers and do more readings to understand the bigger picture. We need to embrace all religions.All scriptures are there to lead us back to becoming better people.

One god come from zesus of greek mythology he was the GOD of Gods in greek mythology.
Garden of Eden was stolen from norse mythology .Except in norse mythology the end of the world was a garden with one man and one woman left!!
Was jesus real I really dont know .what Ive seen on doco's at the time of jesus performing his miracles others in the roman occuppied world were also doing the same things .In other words it was by chance that the Jesus religion took off and others failed!!
So christanity sprung from judaisim and then islam from both!!
