LiLee: Wash,

i really enjoy the sharing part of the pic comps and get a lot of enjoyment from looking at other peeps amature snaps. As you say its not about being the best photographer but about sharing our experiences and having a laugh together. I also enjoy how everyone is so encouraging of each other. I have found it a great way to join in with the group and feel more comfortable about posting in other threads because of that encouragement. I hope things don't change and it always stay a fun, not too competitive place for us to mix with each other.

Thanks for organising and running the comp.....

Well said Lilee - I don't have a flash camera, wish I had done a photo course years ago, maybe I will. I just point and click??

If this comp ever gets too professional it will take the fun out of it? Let's hope it stays the same. thumbs up wave

@ Wash - just a thought, wot if we opened a thread for "Photo comp winning shots'??? Just re-post the winning shot, so it would be there week after week and add to it with the topic name? Hey, then we could have a "Pic of the Year". applause

Ooops better get outta here before I get in trouble with the Big Chief super

This is a fun photo comp and it is obvious we get a lot of enjoyment out of the way it is running.

And so glad newbie wants to run the comp during 2013applause cheering applause cheering

And we do have a winner - bit obvious although disappointed those other 500 votes didn't come in for me.

So well done Yobazza. All time high of 62 points. Your lucky choice for the December Comp. Need to make it easy as I want to get this out of the way before Xmas.

After everyone voted #1 for the Happy Face, it was a bit more spread out for most other people. 2nd went to first-timer 10ccJudy on 30 points. Great shot

Yes i was just reading weather report, was thinking to head out in the bush but maybe not. That storm is heading south and likely wont effect here, still it looks like we will get some storms

Saw the snake pics , grass looks very dry .At least there is still plenty there . Very cold here last two days with hail and some rain . Tricky year as it was a very cold spring but mostly dry with wind and no grass growth , now that the land is warm its two dry to grow the grass . Big cracks showing up already . Sheep prices here 5/8ths of last year due to our dollar .Getting tough in Dannevirke for some business's .

getting tough for a lot here to mate, yes we had one hot day two days ago, straight away fire season comes knocking, more grass on the hills than stock to eat, i mowed front paddock and sheep and heifers have been grassing it to get rid the seed stalks fire loves them
Been no burning off in the surrounding bush so is probably bound up in time

About 100 residents of Glen Huon in southern Tasmania were evacuated from their homes this afternoon as a bushfire approached Bermuda road.

yea looked to me you would not want to drop a match in that grass . All very well having natural areas for people to have a good time , but cattle in your areas would reduce the fire risk heaps .Little items in our rural newspapers comments on Aus new found policy of keeping cattle out of natural areas . Doing it here in the south Island as well . Building up a fire risk with many years growth . Fire down there week or two back burnt out 400 ha's , conservation area I think . Nothing like fires in Aus but a sharp warning , but for one thing , fire's are a natural thing to some people running the show .
