reolvine420: a man who dares to waste one hour of time has not discovered the value of life

Describe waste? I was once told that playing computer games would get me nowhere! I now can walk into any office and run whatever program they are using, as if I had used it for years! My job now requires hand eye coordination using a joystick and a computer, you see all those years off playing Wing-Commander are paying off! I put the kid on the computer at age 4, just doing drawings, last month she took out the highest award for computer graphics and design, in year 12.

Although I do like Darwin with his evolution theory I still can understand why he would marry his cousin?

crap ... comes to mind...

time out wasting time is under rated because stress and depression are 2 of most damaging things that happen. if only ppl had relaxed and wasted time.. it may not be so common in society as it is..

coping skills

for a person to lay on a lounge all day means they would have low self esteem.. because no one wants to be bored and not laugh intentionally

I disagree! People who watch TV can become some off our smartest people, depending on what they are watching offcourse? If you sit there watching mindless sitcoms then yes you are wasting your time! But I have learnt a lot more from TV than I ever did at school, now we have computers I can lookup whatever I need to know? Computers now are replacing the TV with the kids we have these days! My kid will read a book for four hours sit on the net forever, but on occasion she will venture out and sit and watch utter crap! On TV? that’s her rest time? She just wants to be entertained,

Having to have some time off work over the years for one reason or another, I do recognise why they put all that crap on during the day.

So intelligent people will go to work.

But did find a good showe on this year. Sports Science (or something like that). Interesting looking at the way althletes actually do all that great stuff, and what can happen when they do it wrong.

One time, they were showing stuff about what happens during physicl contact during sport. Started off with a boxer getting hit below the belt.

Cringe, cringe and did take a while for me to think about uncrossing my legs. And that was just on the tvdoh They later had an amateur stunt man actually get paid $50 to stand there and receive a tennis ball where it really hurts (have my knees together just thinking about it).

Knowing what was about to happen, his heart rate went from 60 to 120 in less than 10 seconds. When he went down, his heart rate went to 180, basically a heart attack. He was temporarily paralysed on his left side. But he did survive ....... think it was part of the "No cruelty to animals" bit involved as well as it was only a human being inflicted.

I often wonder if our emotions outweighs our intelligence and intuition. It could be why we make wrong choices and regret them afterwards.

I think our emotions do outweigh our intelligence. But only if we let it.

Every one has to be selective in what they say and do and feel,

It is not others that hurt us by mean words or things they do,
It is how we react to those things

I agree with you ---so,so true. However in extreme emotional state our intelligence goes out the window. It is not there at the right time. When we are depressed our intelligence fails us. I feel we need other virtues/attributes that we have developed during our life eg. strong will power, to pull us through dangerous choices that we may make.
