They do have a singles site for Perth singles to meet up but not a web site like CS. I don't care to go to these meets because you turn up at the venue where they are to meet and they are complete strangers "meaning" you know anything about them at all never chatted on line until the actual meet. A couple of my friends went once and didn't enjoy it for same reason.

On CS we chat nearly every day if we wish and we kinda get an idea of who each of us are & about our likes and dislikes etc! etc! and then we all jump on a plane and fly to a meeting and that is how most of the peeps on here form good frienships. Plus I see it also as a get away long weekend I do love to go away for a weekender thumbs up I have met some of the people on here when I was in Melbourne last and I can say they were just the people they portrayed on line and was a great pleasure to catch up with them and I am looking forward to seeing them again and the other CS members for the first time too. hug

I also think we W.A sand groupers are a tad too far from all the other states to have a meet for all of our states to come to which is our downfall. sigh Melbourne is central plus a fun place to visit their city is alive & buzzin where's Perth city goes to sleep early most night yawn sleep laugh sad but true. Having said all that I still love my Perth.

You do realise that the Hurricane season is powerfully frightening in Oct.. ?? Hits the Carribean Islands pretty hard...laugh

Jeepers - Buddy lived in St Thomas and every year we would be kept up to date with his hurricane news.. one year we couldn't contact him for a week as all the power was down... and another CS member.. prolly ex member now.. took his daughter for a carribean cruise for her 18th birthday, and went in the hurricane season, and they had to berth for the storms.. and wouldn't cha know it... of all the islands.. they berthed at St Thomas.. and he and Buddy knew each other.. but had not exchanged phone numbers.. so they never met..

doh

Rotten shame that... crying

WA is a long way from the Eastern States where most people live. Perth is 2,500 miles from the east coast. Takes a day just to fly there, and a fair few days to drive or go by train. Melb, Sydeney and Brisbane are 1-2 hours away by plane from each other.

If I was going to Perth, I would want to spend a bit of time there instead of just a weekend. A long way to travel and I would not just to want to see a couple of bars and return. To organise something over there would take a year or 3 to organise plus a decent holiday itinerary for us long-distance travellers.
