asha69: just wondering if anyone has been to the ayaria resort and spa in bali?
it looks soooo nice, and i was thinking of going for about 5 days in june/july time.
is it safe travelling to bali by yourself?ive travelled a lot by myself but never been to bali.
please if anyone has any advice i would be grateful..

Yeah I went to Bali alone and had no problems.
If you're a seasoned traveller asha, you'll just know to be always aware, same as anywhere, and never get yourself into dubious situations.
If you're doing a package, it will probably include airport transfers which is the only time I was a bit silly and took a cab .. alone .. at 1am ..
I've never been away on hols O/Seas on my own I'm a scaredy- me- cat

i know what you mean serene, i am aware of whats around me, its just ive heard so many things that have happened and it scared me,
i will do what you suggested too and get an airport transfer, its only 15 minutes from the airport from what i have read

i will fly to melbourne, then fly back to perth then onto bali i dont have a private jet

I went to Bali as part of a group... It was certainly good fun, and I sort of agree, Bali is one of those places that you need fun company.. but failing that...
Go on your own.. its really fine... you will meet all sorts.. but the only thing in Bali... remember that whoever you meet, if they are into drugs.. you will be implicated.
The language is also dead easy..
Learn to say NO... tidak...!!!! Terima kasi thankyou...
Although I am happy to travel overseas by myself.. I like it when there is someone there to meet me... but I did manage fine for 6 wks without a mobile phone either... so , its just a matter of keeping focus...
I am going os again next year...again alone... I quite like the challenge...

hey merri, yes i remember the language from going to malaysia, i used it all the time there.
i enjoy flying alone. i always keep my bags close to me too, so scared of the prisons there
i think because im going to a resort it owuld be nice to have company in the spa and on the beach, i love the days alone but nights on the beach and the restaurants are nice with company

Singapore is just beautiful BUT! very expensive like Australia cost factor I did totally enjoy my time there and the people are just so lovely friendly and nearly all speak english

i havent actually stayed in singapore, had lots of people say its really nice there.
i think i would need to win lotto first, would like to take the grandkids to disneyland there.
Obscuritan: Yeah I get that Lookin' Take a sudafed an hour or so before you leave. And get the real ones where you have to show your drivers license as those other ones don't work very well.
im fine on take off, love that, but i get really bad head on the way down, like stabbing pains in my head, i take 3 aspirin 1 hour before we come down and drink water and eat lollies, that helps now so fine with flying,it was to do with my sinuses apparently.
