EratoTheMuse: Well thankyou Conduit!
I'm not a writer. I used to be a blogger on a large site and really enjoyed writing. Expressing thoughts, giving others food for thought. Perhaps I need to find some time to resume that lol

Thankyou once again for your comment, it's was exactly what I needed

Erato, we all have our own thoughts. Some of us have our doubts, some of us want to provoke thought. So we put up what we think or what we want, some sort of explanation to let us better understand. Some just say "we know what is best for you" without knowing us.

Without an intimate knowledge of a person, how can we tell them what is "right for them?"

But one thing I did learn many years ago and seen as quotes for so many famous people, "If you don't ask, you will never know."

So when you find people who are willing to believe in something which they have not seen or heard. Why wont they feed the sick and the hungry which they can see and hear their pain and put those morals, you all fondly speak off that god has given you into practice? Or isn’t that that in the ten commandments and therefore morally acceptable to sit back and watch it happen? confused

jem1964: I must admit I dont care if someone is an atheist, agnostic, christian, muslim or calithumpian, belief is a personal practice.

it is people trying to convert, or to try and convince that tends to cause dissession, on small scale or large scale.

surely we all should be "big" enough humans to allow people what ever beliefs or disillusionments they want?

Couldn't agree more, it's like the old saying goes, "I don't mind God, it's his fans that worry me!"wine

So very true jem1964,Each to their own beliefs. All of them are right.History has shown us that some dissensions/wars, have started from religious intolerance. We are still facing this problem now/hence the special task force that many goverments have set up.

Wash when I use the term "provoke thought" I refer to the postings of my own thoughts or observations for others to read, take something from if they wish to, or find something in them if they can, or not even any of that....maybe even to critique. Provoking thought is a far cry from telling people what to do or how to think. Nor is it an attempt to tell people what is right or wrong for them as I simply don't think that way to begin with.

If someone posts something that stimulates my thought processes, gets me thinking about things....then they've provoked my thoughts. Just as Conduit did here....it's a good thing!
