I agree with you Merriweather. I have a few Iranian friends (women) who live close to me. I did hear my friend say that she speaks Farsi,plus a few other languages,very well. Never knew what she was talking about. Now I know.
Must ask her to teach me some,just for conversations. We see each other almost fortnightly. Absolutely lovely people.

Persian language... Farsi... is what a lot of our new immigrants speak.. so being that I see them at work, I thought I 'd give it a go..
What makes it different is that you always use the Noun first, then the adjective then the verb.. so Its back to front from how we place words..
I go on FarsiWizard on google and from that I have learnt about 30 odd words.. but now, I should be able to get on with it a bit more if Ali gives me some guidance...
anyway... Salaam phonetically for us... say Salum.. is the hello word
and no... I have no intention of learning how to write it... that is all too hard.. lol
