wash2u: Going back to the 70s, if you really want to hear this tale.

Took this wonderful girl out to the drive-in to watch "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" This was the Saturday night and I was hot-to-trot. Turns out that I was the 3rd namesake in a row to take her to see it I missed a lot of the movie being the 3rd of similar names taking her (they have funny spellings) but I did up marrying her.

Hey, these were good times in the back row of the drive-ins with a panel van or station wagon with curtains and a carton to boost.

I've got a station wagon! It's 17 yrs old, been in an accident so rear panel bit bent, home DIY paint job, half roof lining missing but she still goes! thumbs up \

My daughter is driving it at the moment, soooo embarrassing mum doh she just sold her car so is looking around. Comes in real handy - $250 for 65 mths rego and CTPI so as long as it still goes....

Used to pick up a lovely man friend of mine from Brisbane airport every 3 or 4 weeks, I used to joke that I could always fit a single bed mattress in the back and we could pull off the M1 if we couldn't wait! lips rolling on the floor laughing yay

asha69: they were the days eh?
we had them in england too, memories i still never got in one though

But you probably have never seen a Sandwagon.thumbs up dancing

Totally Aussie experience. Mothers told their daughters to keep away from them.

You must watch "Puberty Blues" to understand what they meant to the culture of the time.

Although the movie was a few years after "The Happenings."
