I'm one who likes daylight saving. I like the longer afternoons and I suppose I associate it with summer and warm weather. Not that we have had many very hot days here this summer. Much more wet days. So I'm a bit sad daylight saving has ended and its getting dark sooner today. What are your opinions?

Do you want my Cat Lilee !!
Poor thing I should say 5 days a week I'm up for work at 4.45am . She gets her breaky early .So of course end of day light saving she was at my door from 3.30 am and I stayed in bed till 5.30 .She meowed for 2 straight hours almost non stop . I got up at 5.30 fed her and me then went fishing.(she did come in my bedroom and meow)
Before anyone says poor cat .I could not feed her early and leave her .Firstly she's the type of cat who throws up breakfast 90% of the time .And secondly if I fed her at 3.30 am today she'd want it that time everyday !!!

So daylight saving good for fishing bad for cat rolling on the floor laughing

That is a problem Mickey.....but hopefully you only have to hear her meow one day and she will get the message sooner rather than later.

I wonder what those people who live on the border think. It's one more thing to think about when traveling up north to visit my sons. Have to calculate time of arrival. You would think it would be easy but for some reason it's not always. wave

When you think about it how silly is it for such a small country to have how many time zones in summer ?
Ah well its gone till summer now

Hi LiLee wave

Glad it's over to be honest confused

Basically because I'm a morning person and having it still dark at close to 7am is a bit frustrating, especially when it comes to getting my dog out for a walk before I get off to work.

Don't get up to much after work so an earlier sunset doesn't bother me - not looking forward to winter though (or the power bills lol)

I live in Brisbane its only a hour or so from the border,
not interested in day light saving for here,
why not make or let N.S.W change if some don't like it,
if other parts of the world like America can live with time zones why can't we,,country is to big for every one to be the same,,
Queensland would end up with two time zones,,

Hi Serene, yes it was staying dark too long in the morning. The weather has definitely turned cooler here as well. I've had my electric blanket on the last few nights. Time to get cosy and stay warm now.

Nearly put the blankie on when I changed my sheets this morning, but threw an extra layer on instead - cool nights now, but not too chilly grin

Yes, QLD doesn't need it. I love it down here but I was raised in FNQ and it is still daylight at 10pm in summer anyway. WA is the same, they don't need it either. Def great for the southern states though, I am going to miss it now. blues

A big NO here in Western Australia they tried twice to bring it in and the people of W.A. voted it out enough said and as for 3 hrs behind Victoria when I got home from Melbourne it took me nearly all week to get back in the time warp weird I tell ya!

I voted "no" in the last referendum on daylight saving as did 56% of thos who voted. By the way do you know there is a second time zone in WA. If you travel from SA along the Nullabor the first three towns are in a zone of their own. 45minutes behind Adelaide and 45 minuted ahead of Perth. Defintely do things differently here in WA.

Its not needed here in the west, 36deg today, just how long do you want the day to last? Besides our time zone is the same as China and India our major trading countries who don’t have daylight savings! And it snows in parts off China!

And these last few weeks are driving me nuts! Doona goes on doona comes off? Its not helping my poor sleeping patterns, there was a rainbow just down the road this afternoon as it was raining? Just the one big cloud,
professor doh cheers

Got to agree with that. Try listening to ABC Radio to get time checks when travelling. Luckily, when I travel, I just rely on the sun for stopping and starting each day and forget about time.
