No I don't remember that but he was an idiot to advertise such a thing really. In reality agents advertise to everyone and the choice is made on the preference of the owner or agent. The discrimination is still there but is hidden.

I believe we were discussing landlords, however, you and I both know personal choice, discrimination, call it whatever you will, happens behind the scenes all the time. Of course it's not blatant but a reality none the less. Proving you have been discriminated against merely because another was chosen over you would be extremely difficult.

The first post questioned whether a dwelling could exclude someone based on the fact they had kids. Possibly under the law they cannot. But by the mere fact of making it known that's their preference they have achieved their objective. Only a nut would move in with kids just to piss everyone else off and make a point, but I'm sure there are those that would get a 'freedom of rights' kick out of it.

Good luck to them I say.......rolling on the floor laughing

I agree as I have stated in the first few posts, “if your only objective is to P people off” but the title of the thread is also discrimination, and here again it would be classed as a discrimination to reject someone on a solemn base of having children.

AgentAjax: Asking for no animals and no children is entirely different social expectation.

Should I be able to advertise for no labours because I don’t want to be confronted by dirty work clothes? No Holden drivers because Im a Ford fan? No Asians, Mexicans or Italians because they scream when they speak??????????

snagsmoore: I was watching ACA last night who were making a big deal out of an apartment block who refused to allow people with children or expecting children to buy into it. Apparently this is against the law but I question why? Why can't people who aren't fans of screaming annoying children have a peaceful space to live? And does this mean I have every right as a mother with kids to maybe buy into a retirement village? Surely they can't discriminate against me because I am not old??

When I went to China, I holidayed without my kids because I wanted respite from them, then I had to put up with someone else's kids who were on the tour with us. It didn't ruin my holiday, but it would have been a hell of a lot better without them there.

I get sick of hearing about people who want to get into something that is not for them. Why can't we leave people in their comfort zones without having to interfere? If you love kids so much, go and live next to a creche or something.

Going in here before I read the rest of the comments.

My wife and I did 3 months in Europe with half of that being a coach tour through Europe before we did UK on our own. Day #1 and nearly everyone is thinking "bloody kids." By Day #3, "We are going to .....are your kids coming with us?"

By Salzburg, a lot of people wanted to know about the wire thing we bought my son that has the diifernt planets shown when it is tranposed. Lots of entertainment there for young and old.

Leaving Venice, it was "catch" over the coach with the kids. One of my fondest memories.

During the coach tour, the comments were:

"You have such well behaved children. I could never had brought mine."

"We are going to this .... tonight, hope you and your children can come along."

"We have enjoyed having your children along on this tour."
