Yes, I'd vote for the Libs. Don't believe i'm voting for a prime minister as such. This isn't America where the President ('s office) has all the power.
Don't like Abbott's style, but can't listen to Gillard more than a minute either.

the answer is NO

meanwhile Labor while the Chinese PLA is taking up the slack after Gillard moved funds from universities to high and primary schools, i note this in news item today

SYDNEY—State Grid Corp. of China, the world's biggest utility by revenue, is seeking to buy power assets worth billions of dollars in Australia.

In an acquisition bound to face close regulatory scrutiny in Australia, the state-owned utility said Friday it had reached an agreement with Singapore Power Ltd. to purchase listed and unlisted assets that include electricity and gas networks supplying Australia's two largest cities.

State Grid, or SGCC, is looking to pay an undisclosed amount for 60% of Singapore Power's unlisted assets—among them, the Jemena utility that manages more than 5 billion Australian dollars (US$4.88 billion) worth of pipelines and transmission networks serving millions of customers on the east coast, including Sydney and Melbourne. The agreement also includes the purchase of 20% of SP AusNet Ltd., SPN.AU +1.57% a Sydney-listed transmission group, for A$824 million, according to both companies.

I'll be voting for my sitting independent member

30 years ago when I was a low paid outdoor worker, we shared our lunchroom with the cleaners. They were staunch Laboring voters "We are workers, we have to vote Laboring."

I have never believed this blue-collar vs white-collar "have to vote" stuff. Always looked at what they had done and what they could do.

But old Stan was never going to vote any other way no matter what they had done or promised. But he did say that under the Libs, there was more chance of the workers getting a payrise while the Labs wanted to make it easier for big business to get their support.

The voting is for the party politics, not the Leaders because as we have seen, they can get back-stabbed shortly after winning the election. And then we have a different agenda from the new Leader.

With the wasteful track record and the rash decision made without thinking about the consequences by this Govt during the last term, I may even put a vote on the ballot paper this time around.

But the choices are very limited.

Greens??? Close down the coal mines and turn off the electricty. Or just tax them to the hilt if they continue polluting and the users will pay the additional 25%. And tax agriculture as well with Carbon Tax, we need that land for more parks. We can always import food. (Does sound like Laboring as well).

Clive Palmer??? As was said, no agenda.

Bob Catter??? Has ideas but.

Libs???? Haven't said much.

Laboring???? Already given us the Pink Batts, Carbon Tax, better schools (cost double what should have been and the community, through local councils, had to spend mega-bucks they could ill afford to improve infrastructure around the schools), encouraged immigration above levels we can sustain with employment for them let alone people already here, Pensioner bonuses (with millions going overseas to prop up the failing Greek economy), and cutting Uni funding (thumbs up thumbs up who needs those educated idiots anyway, let's go back to full-fee Uni where only the rich can afford it) so that we will have money for basic education.

Maybe I will just get my name crossed off and make sure I don't whinge to much about whoever wins.frustrated frustrated

They all make me sick these days,
stuffing there face with tax payers money while making it harder for working people,,single workers in this country are just non existent to them,
when Rudd got into power he put a veto on the next pollie pay rise
due to the world down turn,
early last year,,in secret,, Gillard introduced a vote
to veto the veto and it passed in secret with no public fuss
now the swines can look in the camera and say
well there's nothing we can do about it, cos they made it like that !!
Wayne Swan already has done that at the last big raise they got
you remember ?? the one where Gillard got so much she now earns more money then the American President,
what do we call that ???? corruption ?? cheek ? arrogance ???

What about Clive Palmer? The PUP (Palmer United Party) is standing candidates in every seat, so if you vote for him there is another possibility...could he be worse?
Tony or Juliar? both will hike taxes as they see the australia public as ATM's...

Clive Palmer says now that his wife is expecting their second child it's another reason to vote for his Palmer United Party (PUP).

Mr Palmer will stand in the Queensland seat of Fisher as he makes an audacious bid to become prime minister from outside parliament.

now he says he is standing in my division of fisher against my member peter slipper

No sense in having the vote unless you change it now and again . The best that can be done is to turn the rubbish over . Nothing like being tossed out to discipline a politician , it has something to do with not being able to access hotel mini bars for free .

I do not like the current leader who has delivered the current policies, the numbers and the outcomes of the actions .

Being in Local Govt, I have seen some of the real costs there are to the local community. Nobody wants to pay Council rates when they see no benefit to them personally. The Council I worked for demanded through recent elections that costs be reduce by at least 5%.

My unit alone had a 23% increase in 1 single item, street lighting, thanks to the Carbon Tax. And 15% maintenance charges added to that as well.

Who pays for that? Okay, there is a need to compensate for that but what services does your local council need to reduce? We already pay a separate charge for emptying your garbage. Mine are every 3-4 weeks but I pay the same charge as those every week.

I don't have children using day care but I do have to subsidise those that do.

I love to read and have never used my current 11 years local library (now being retired I will have to use that "free" service).

I started work at 12 delivering Sunday papers making 2/6 for the mornings work. It lasted just the one day. At 15 I was earning $15 dollars for a decent days work as a brickies labourer. By 18 I was eaning $25 per week less tax. But I was learning my trade.

After 43 and 1/2 years of full time employment (including self-employed) when I have wanted to work, I cannot see how the current labouring Govt wants me to enjoy the fruits of my labour.

I have been ripped off to the tune of $350,000 by a lABORING NSW Govt through my super. Would I ever support Laboring? NO
