How many car crashes have you survived? (46)
Seven before I was 21, one was not my fault
then between 21 and 46 none not even a bingle. Then I hit a parked police bike and rode off 2 work utes in a matter of three months.

I asked a work colleague that question years ago and he replied "only three that were my fault."
I was shocked as at that time I'd only had one - since then I've had a second.
My first one was when I lost control on a gravel road and ended up facing back the other way. No injuries.
The second one, I was towing a trailer with too much weight towards the rear and it started fishtailing. Totally lost control - and the load.

3 "minor" prangs on road with a few drops of a motor bike on gravel , one of those I nicked a culvert marker on a corner. Rolling 4x4's when wet off road is just part and parcel of my work or used to be .
Funniest one on road was with two mates going hunting . There was these two culvert markers and as I had gone from a bike to a series 1 Land Rover and fresh from being nocked flat by one it was pay back time , bang ,bang then nicked a pile of metal ,up on two wheels , there was this power pole bang it just plain disappeared . The top part did any way .The bottom part came up through the floor on the passenger's side and dragged it from the ground . We never stopped , just slowed enough for Tom to pull the stump into the Rover . Damage ,haha not likely , bend in the bull bar ,broken spring centre bolt and a hole in the floor . Wonder we ever made 20 let alone 21 . And this was just the start of the weekend hunting . We were six foot tall and bullet proof .

Nice looking Series 2. Was having a giggle about "My X always found her side of the rover windy" (aren't they all) and then saw the second picture and laughed.
Still trying to work out what the "Other arf is further up the hill" is referring to.
Managed to get through 4 crashes plus 2 emu hits. Mainly little damage.
Worst was the head-on which nearly wrote off the car. Drunk came around the corner and onto my side of the road, luckily I was slowing for the traffic signals and it ended up being a fairly low(?) speed impact...70-80km/hr. Both cars towed away and it a took week to get mine fixed. Mine was about 18 months old and spare parts were easy to get.
Luckily we all had seatbelts on. I have investigated a couple of these low speed crashes where no seatbelt was worn resulting in a fatality.

Mate is a Qantas pilot and he always has a copilot to keep an eye on him. And the traffic controllers are on the air saying "QF493, your approach speed is too fast. QF493, your approach angle is too high, please adjust. QF493, your approach angle is too low, FENCKEN PULL UP."
Bloody scary flying with him in a light aircraft when the "copilot" has never flown a plane and keeps playing with every button and dial.
Bone: "Goose (as the Qantas pilot is known as to us), what happens when I do this?"
Goose: "Don't touch that. That is our landing gear."
Bone: "What about this then?"
Goose: "NOOOOOOOOO, don't touch that, it dumps all the fuel out when we have to make an emergency landing."
Bone: "What does this do?"
Goose: "Can someone tie Bone up so he can't touch anything?"

rolled it twice first time right over and onto its wheels second time it broke a bit . Ground was to wet late here
touch wood,ive never been in one, but on the hwy outside my joint,theres been 3 head ons in about 20yrs,one the care was split in two he survived and so did the other,the other two were tourists,couldnt speak a word of our lingo,both survived but were thrown out on the road I found them after 15 mins,but the ambos took another 20 to 15 mins to come.wouldnt want to be critical otherwise they wouldn't be here.

My one and only crash was on the same day I told my ex to leave!!
No surprises there, I was probably not concentrating as I should be and made a right hand turn into a car (think he was speeding as well to get thru the red light)
2 kids in the back, managed to miss them, all ok but car a right off.
Had to go to police station next day and the ex didn't even bother coming with me, that's when I knew it was definitely over.
But it taught me a lesson, don't drive when you are distressed or distracted?

For me, #1 was when the guy in front of me took off and, when I looked and decided I had enough time to cross as well, he decided decided to brake.
#2 truck was driving on the wrong side of the road in a carpark and I had to swerve to miss him and scraped a power pole.
#3 I was slowing for a red light and a drunk came around the corner and hit me head-on.
#4 Idiot in front of me slammed on his brakes for an orange light in the wet. I slid.
Emus don't count because they do not think
My niece was involved in 7 crashes in her first year of driving. None of them technically her fault. "Uncle Wash, I didn't think they would pull out when I was in the right."
I come from a family of racing drivers. Racing calls for assertive/aggressive driving. I was taught Defensive driving for the road.
My granfather, my mother and my brother were racing car drivers who never had a crash outside the racetrack. My father, my sister and I have.
Ex #1 is the one who made all the claims on mycar insurance.
