Just don't drop anything. You can be put in goal for dropping a ciggie butt - and spitting out the gum if you are giving up.

I have never been there but have family who have enjoyed Singapore and nearby areas. Besides going over to look at a few of the WWII camps (Changi), have a great time and try and do a few tours up through Malaysia. There are many fabulous temples to see - although my brother did say that after being at a dedication for 12 hours for a new temple can be a bit taxing.

Been through Singers airport a squillion times and could easily holiday there laugh

Daughter, husband and 7 yr old grandson spent a few days in Singapore last year en route to Thailand, loved it thumbs up

Clean, modern, excellent facilities, they said they could live there with no problems.

They also enjoyed a trip to Sentosa Island

Have a ball Maddie cheers

yes I have heard about littering and the penalties so we will be careful, don't want to spend time in gaol. we are only there for 7 nights so probably won't have time to go too far. thanks wash for your advice. thumbs up

My only experience of Singapore was a 2 day stopover on way back from UK couple of years ago and I loved it maddie! thumbs up

People are very polite, it is very clean, taxis cheap as?? Orchard Road is THE main shopping street, everything from Versace to Top Shop!! Bit confusing after jet lag I wondered where the hell I was - had Aussie stores too Cotton On I think. Not all that sure if it was as cheap as it used to be??

Oh and then there is The Raffles Hotel, I sooooo wanted to have a Singapore Sling in there wine but we visited early morning on second day and very, hot and humid and couldn't face one. Had one in flight though?? drinking

China town good for cheap souvenirs, people don't pester you like other places.

Beautiful old Government buildings and I believe the Marina is worth a visit but we didn't have time?

Oh and I seem to remember on arriving we were given some kind of 'Arrival form' which we didn't realise we had to keep and present on departure?? Not a big drama, but if we had known would have saved a bit of hassle?

Sure you will love it - I would like to go back and see it again. We flew Singapore Airlines cos I didn't want to fly with a Middle East airlines and Singapore were fantastic and made a great stopover.

Have a great time Maddie. thumbs up

Ask in your hotel when you get there for ideas. And then sort a much cheaper ride/tour. Might be worth hiring a car & driver - always plenty of opportunities but hotel arranged may be double/triple the price of elswhere) and go for a drive into Malaysia and visit some towns.

And keep a good eye on your sugar levels as the food is very deceptive as far a carbs & fats are concerned. Sometimes not enough, other times too much ... sister-in-law is from Malaysia and it is surprising what they do or don't put in the food. Sometimes heavily sweetened, sometimes with nothing even though the spices make it so tasty.
