At present I'm reading The Confessions of a Latter Day Virgin conversing

No I didn't write it or it would have been called The Confessions of a Born Again Virgin rolling on the floor laughing

About a young woman who was born and raised in the Mormon church and her struggle to reconcile her wants, needs, desires and goals in life with the strict boundaries that the church places upon women in particular.

Why is it that many extreme religious followers suppress the natural desires of humans especially women dunno

Yeah I remember that case; the girl held captive by her abductor, not to be confused with that other Austrian girl held captive by her father (or stepfather?)

Reading a book called "The happiness trap" at the moment. This is a self help book that claims that the psychology and self help"industry" are to blame for the depression problem in today's society. We keep getting told that we "should" be happy and if not, to try positive affirmations, counseling, hypnosis, pills, or anything to feel good. If we don't feel good we feel like a failure.
This is something I've certainly been a victim of.

I know the Austrian girl's story you are thinking of Obs but this was a different girl, her captor was not her father and she didn't have any kids. He threw himself under a train after she escaped before he could be captured.

Yes we are made to feel we must be happy all the time through TV and things like facebook where everyone boasts about how great their lives are. It can leave you feeling rather a failure if you are lonely and not so happy at times, I agree.

As an Xmas present, I did receive a new book about "Horrie the Wog Dog." Ion Iondress did write something of this around the late 40s.

It is great to read more behind the fiction written.

I am presently reading Auschwitz - A Doctor's eyewitness account by Miklos Nyizli

It's a new New York Times Bestseller..

This Doctor was a leading forensic pathologist in his own country, before he was deported as he was Jewish, to Auschwitz and volunteered to work alongside Dr Mengele (he thought by doing so, it might prolong his life)

From the Doctor within him, he re accounts what happened at Auschwitz and to the many inmates, who weren't all jews.. There were prisoners of war, political inmates as well as gypsies... Something I didn't know, was that Germany even managed to extract Jews from Corfu...and en mass were sent to the crematorium...

The other thing I learnt was that a leading research facility in Germany, knew about the happening in Auschwitz, but, with the eye on the bigger picture were happy to receive as well as take part in any research being conducted at Auschwitz...

because of hand problems I havent been able to hold a book to read it so I brought a cheap 7in tablet and I love it.

Currently reading the first book of The Game of Thrones series, only just started but looks like it should be a good read.

Just finished the series of Girl with the Dragon tattoo by Steig Larrson and they all were a good read.
