How Long Is Your....... (80)
Lookin4missright: ........ employment been with the same employer?
Mine has been 15years on 12/1/14
It has been a hard slog mostly with a lot of hours, but now(tomorrow)will have 3mths paid holidays in my pocket for a rainy day
Besides lookin4missright this has been my only goal in later life, to reach....15yrs at work...
Now that will end tomozz i'll have to find another goal
What are/where your goals in life

I did manage 20 years with 1 employer. It was a hard slog from being on the outdoor crew to being an "office bludger." And then another hard slog to try and get anywhere without the Uni edumication. Got that and then left there and did so much more with that bit of paper that really did not give me any more knowledge.
I do admire in some ways your loyalty to your company. Hope you can stick it out until your retire.

I still have a year and a little bit before I can use my long service pro-rata (7 years) so another 4 years for me for the long break.

That's an amazing achievement
My employer and I parted company yesterday actually (formally).
I've had six months off so far and am now considering myself semi-retired
My goal at present, after buying a bike the other day, is to cycle 25km in one ride lol.
Just got back from a 10km so I'll probably knock that goal over within the week, seek another goal and get back to you

that's what has kept me there for this long "loyalty"..... Many years ago i hurt my back when just about the whole of melbourne would'nt give me a job because of it 
Like you guys/girls ... i had mortgage,bills expences etc... and was falling way behind, i was in so much pain and could hardly walk
& in/out of specialists, hospitals etc..but of course the bills had to be paid.. This man/employer gave me a start where no-one would touch me
and for that i have given HIM (not company) a bit of old school loyalty 
Over the years with him i have had numerous offers of work but just could'nt leave.When my back was pretty bad all those years ago i had considered suicide many times
until my now boss gave me that chance, and 15yrs later i have had the loyalty of my deseased mate (dog) for approx 12-13 of those years which i would'nt of had, my home and you peeps

Did the years in the industry and did qualify for the pro rata bit. Did manage to use some of that when I did take some rec-leave where they added that in. But after I left working, it showed up as a MINUS.......

but Im sure the paylady at work would be able to answer. But sorry I cant really ask yet coz I dont qualify yet

If it shows as minus... that might mean that you had used what you were not entitled to...( bought leave)
so If I were you... I would not say too much...

they are those big fat tyres with thick tread that are on a lot of old 4x4's and f100's etc.... i'd need them so i would'nt blow'em out

Had this conversation with a friend recently and off the top of my head, I could rattle off 30 odd jobs, or places that I have worked over the years!
Having said that I have done 2 jobs at the same time, like a full time admin job and a bar job at the weekends
When I went to UK couple of years ago with my daughter I didn't realise I had worked in just about every pub in town
she said "Is there any pub you didn't work in?" One or 2 I guess .....
