independence be better for the country no matter what they stand for. The current two party rubber stamping each others crap without representing the views of the people is depriving the people of democratic repersentation

SA, like Tassie, should become a conservation park.

Although I do hope they will let us tourists come and see it.

Not my thing but the tourists to SA should be allowed to dive with the Great Whites.

mickyj63: krista our state govt is at wAr with the bikies mind u bikies take them court ! Whoever we get I hope they are better money managers than labour and liberal

Now now Micky, the bikies are just businessmen like many of the polli hopefuls. Just that they do seem to be able to make money.

I was around Roxby Downs 18 months ago. Driving in, we were passed by lots of cops - we usually do about 90km/hr in the outback as Land Rovers chew up too much fuel otherwise. Coming back from Andamokka the next day, we stopped in Roxby Downs to fuel up. Cop was doing the same. We chatted. They were there because the greenies were there protesting about the mines expanding.

The cop told us that they had heard over the CB that the truckies reckoned the cops had a secret weapon for the protestors.

Makes little or no difference who you vote for in a two party system. Their polocies are dictated by polls and what would be poular with certain voting demagraphics.
The current system is outdated and needs to be replaced with a more
equal system that doesn't rely on constant economic growth.
Watch the Zietgiest documentaries, they come up with allot of very compelling arguments against the current system of corporatocray.frustrated

Oddly enough, our system of Govt is based of MPs representing a fixed number of people each in the lower House plus set number representing each state in the upper house (based on the USA model), not the UK form of Commoners and Lords of Heriditary Title.

The main difference is that in Aust, everyone has to vote for whichever party or individual they like and we do not vote for a the "Head of State" (Her role is only). The USA is strictly a 2-Party system where you have to be a Registered Voter to cast your vote.

We have recently had the Greens and some Independants that had a big say in what the Govt of the Day (State & Federal) were doing...okay, they brokered some good deals for their electorates.

Like many people, you call our multi-political party system "outdated." It just turned 114 years old on 1 Jan.

There are very many "anti" people out there who can broadcast why something is wrong. Not many of those have a clue how to fix it.

That’s fine as long as one does not hold enough votes to tip the scales to whom they are going to give their preference votes to.
