Sochi - it's the Winter Olympics in Russia, not Sushi!! laugh

Anybody watching it? Anybody name more than 3 Australian athletes? I had a job.

Checked out the official uniforms, thought they might have been a bit more colourful, think they are pretty boring??

I think Australia is sending about 60 athletes KauriMan.

I've heard there are a few concerns about security as some threats were made but saw on the news the security forces Russia has put in place. Pretty impressive as you would expect from that Nation.

We have a couple of World Champions on the go. Unfortunately, I keep watching the ads of the snowboarder on the sand dunes and the aerobatic jumper landing into the water. Both World Champions.

Oh yeah, and a full shot of Jana's legs on the 2-man (woman) bobsled. Just close my eyes watching the guy on the luege (skateboard thingy) going down the bitumen hill.

I have heard that the safety of the athletes in the accommodation and stadiums is probably good - but because of threats of terrorism the authorities are not recommending any 'after games tourism'. sigh

That's a real shame because I am sure a lot of the athletes will be wanting to see more of the country and some probably will - but it (terrorism) has changed the whole mood of things??

their leaders are being killed though on a regular basis . I think that is good because in past wars the leaders live the life of Riley while sending kids to their deaths . In this matter Obama is doing a good job .

Due to "No reason to have to get up and go to work in the morning" I have managed to watch the Winter Olympics as they happen. Yeah, she missed out by a very small margin from winning the gold.

And then when the interviews are considered, she does have a few problems that should have excluded her from competing.

Yeah, Torah should be an insperation to us all.

Yesterday was warm/humid, I decided that sitting back was better than getting a bit sweatydoh frustrated frustrated

Interesting fact that came across during my viewing. The Netherlands spends more than 6 times on their speed skating program than Aust spends on its whole winter program.
