sassienolonger2: I have been sent a whole heap of stuff from the college that I have to respond too - problem is, my lappy got fried with the recent wave of brownouts and power failures - now have to wait 2 weeks before new lappy arrives
so trying to do my assignments on a tablet that doesn't have office or the abilty to connect to a printer, makes it so damn difficult, and frustrating..

I had that happen to my Mac not long after I started my course, I hope you backed up regularly (I hadn't for over a year).
Until today I hadn't even looked at my assignments for a week. And that's all I accomplished, looking at them.
I'll be glad when I'm up and about again.
On the bright side my iTunes songs are now in immaculate order.

yes backing up is must !! I wouldn't want to loose my music collection, books or movies. Lol not to mention my school work..

Thats not the problem per se Rob, I have to use their style guide, and I am used to using office and my tablet has polaris - so when you are used to using ine system.. well you get where I am coming from
should of chosen accountancy instead of business..
anyway 2 more weeks, and I will shut up whinging..!!

Thanks, its been abt 3 years since I have done any courses, but I am looking forward to the challenge..and hopfully it will lead me into a new direction, career wise, as my current occupation is causing me some health issues

Tell me about it, I'm not normally as big a wimp as I have been with this bout of flu. Really knocked it out of me this time.

when I had to do industrial psychology I-O and WO I flew through it with minimum effort because I surrounded myself with people in the know,discussing these subjects over a beer certainly helped. Mind you Im long way from finishing and don't even know if Im going to return to it, who knows what happens next week next year. The thing is get social with right people.so trying to do my assignments on a tablet that doesn't have office or the abilty to connect to a printer, makes it so damn difficult, and frustrating..

I have been lucky, as some of the knowledge I have gained has been through osmosis.. having been married to a business man, and mixing with very astute and switched on business professionals.

Now I don't have to worry about the office 10 being rejected by this dinosaur of a computer I am using... Still waiting for my new one...fully loaded from college...
but this site is great.... and WOW!!!

11am - noon Car rallies around Canberra.
Noon - 1pm Landline - very good article on 18,000 cattle trucked down from Barkley Tablelands to Winton, Qld then droving following the stock routes to Hay, NSW. They were split into 9 mobs running a week behind each other and I did see a couple of the mobs when I was away last year. This turned out to be the biggest droving ever done in Australia...probably the world.
I fell asleep after the article about the "drought" on the Fraser Coast where the sugarcane farmers had 2 years of floods, 1 good year and then only 195mm of rain in the last year.
After a long nap (10 minutes), I went out to get rid of some weeds from my garden and trim a few trees.
ps. I run my computers off external hard drives these days, only use the computer itself for running the programmes and the externals for saving all of my real stuff. Destroyed a couple of computers and lost a lot. Also helps against viruses as they only go for programs. My son-in-law has recently bought some new fangled thing that runs 2 hard drives and does alternate backups (he uses wifi for everything).
