I hate to tell you Micky...
but even our lowest paid worker here, gets higher wages than most countries.. the thing is ... as a blanket statement... it sounds fine.. but then when you add, that we are also, the most expensive for many many items and utilities...
its cold comfort... and
our state is dearer than the others...

Spoke with a shearer who is also a large land owner who asked me ny hourly rate his response was he wouldn't get out of and for my hourly rate!!
Interestingly it was pointed out on Adelaide Radio an energy company was offering 16% discount in Adelaide . While in Melbourne same company was offering 28 % discount !!
Funny lowest wage earners are being blamed yet banks wont touch many for loans to big a risk !!
