Hi,
Depends on is it wild game or farmed game there s a difference and that applys to many different type,s of meat ,

We had deer on the farm i was on and some were brought in and were very game,e wild out back, our other deer were bread on the farms and not so game.e as in tough we did not cook it right so we gave up we had never cooked it before, so our mistake on that detail,

It can depend on what they eat or you feed them will and can make a very big difference in the meat ,

i dont eat if at all any red meat just now and again, plus to much is not good for a person as has been shown

Yes, Micky, it is. Apparently venison is leaner and lower in cholesterol... I believe it's very high in iron too.

all animals including humans ,that have their eyes in front of their head and not on the sides, are supposed to have meat in their diet, for proper mind muscle and bone development, its a proven fact,as we are predators.most humans that call themselves vegans are doing themselves harm in their later years

most of the replys are tcorrect. From memory CSRI says red lean red meat will actually protect you from various cancers but don't take my word for it, you will have to do your own search on that.

shock shock shock No fat in it at all ,sometimes fat on the outside but not like beef , sheep meats , chicken which are through the meat . Simple , if you are trying to loose weight , excepting you are going to be doing the same work and not eating extra food you will loose weight over time . As a matter of interest where did the venison come from ? Robo missing a pet reindeer reindeer (fark it's snowing here) . Seriously I don't know Aussi hunting laws but here with/or with out permission deer are shot every day by people in towns as well as rural people for meat . There will be hunting clubs with fella's as well as woman just like you wanting venison for meat as well as for sport .Heaps of trout fisherman hunt as well .

P.S. do you still have that high vis jacket , you might need it hunting .

Hi KNenagh I'm not certain what your talking about . Sorry I was asking about red meat and venison .
I'm actually under a GP and a dietician for my diabetes and other issues like my heart . And just so u know I have to cut my kilojule intake by 2000 kilojule sa day . I have under instructions cut my red meat intake and my bread intake .
Or in other words I'm now on a high protein low carb low fat diet . Hopefully down the track I'll be 50 kilos lighter
So thanks not sure what your talking about lol

Micky, if you are already talking to a dietitian, there is no worries. I eat red meat about once or twice a week, few carbs and lots of veg. There are vitamins/supplements which can help as well, might be worth talking to someone. It works well for me.

You did mention health problems in the past that's why I gave you best wishes for your health. In most cases it's not voluntary that people change their diets. laugh
