serene56: Watched part of the Vietnam Vets Day ceremony today, it was very moving When John Schumann performed I Was Only 19 a few tears fell, war is such a waste

Being one of those called up for National Service, I hate that song. I was 20 when I was "called up to do my duty."...... Those 19 year olds volunteered to "serve Queen and Country" wherever they were required. There was those who enlisted in the Australian Army to do what Queen & Country required and those forced by conscription.

The way the general public treated those that "served Queen and Country" by different ways was, and still is, despicable.

Those that served did what they were told to do by order of the legitimate Government of Australia in the belief that that Government was the will of the general public.

Looks to me like they are still trying to stitch Clive Palmer up over faulty waist settling ponds and wall that the Queensland Government build before Palmer purchased the nickel mine in Townsville.
Appears to me Palmer is getting blamed for what they the Queensland government did and in any event not something Palmer had any responsibility for, particularly subsequent to 2013 and during the corrupt politically motivated in-administration period, dirty corrupt Queensland politics

Crikey Rob that's bloody terrible. At least they found it before it popped, that would have been untidy. Hope you're on the mend now though.handshake

Came off a bike three years ago and handle bar jammed hard into gut, could feel heartbeat there for donks, thought something was blocking tummy so used to push on it with my hand. anyway had really restless night and a sort of electricity across lower back and down left leg. Dropped in to chat with Blue Nurse about tat and she said doc would next visit in two weeks, so i mentioned properly better if i saw one before that. Nurse oh well he is up in Omeo so i drove up there, sat around for an hour, then got to see doctor.
Put his hand on the area, no time for xray called up pressurized airplane plane that dodged electric wires and landed in Brenambra.

32 strong surgical team in St Vincent's did there thing, that leaked so they went in a second time...laugh

Been kiwi I couldn't get back here under my own steam, they wouldn't allow use of public transport and probably wasn't fit enough anyway, they wouldn't of course ship me back here so a friend drove over and picked me up thankfully. I lost 2 3/4 my weight in couple weeks...
no complaints flight over and treatment in hospital was first class

A cow spotted adrift in the sea by surprised onlookers in the Aegean province of Izmir has been recovered by rescue teams, who saved it from drowning in the Gulf of Izmir.

escaped when they got it on land, probably heading for Lookin's Ark

Because they believe I had a medical episode of some sort
