come on, every country has its upside and downside, it's just a matter of taste. I always felt at home in the UK and would be glad to move there even though I know it has changed over the past 20 years... for the worse as everywhere else. Finland is great if you appreciate solitude, and the pace is still slower here than in many other places. But to me it's too gloomy. Ireland is probably not a bad place to go either. Anywhere in the UK would be my bet.
depends how you judge 'best ' weather/climate countryside / scenary people / places housing / economy quality of life ?
blows ireland out on climate, and austria ? italy / greece yep ! but i love a particular part of france sarlat-le-caneda, in the dordogne gotta be one of the finest places on earth pity about the tourists !
I live in the Mediterranean, I think the best place to live in the EU is Malta. It's a small country with high standard of living, but compared with mainland Europe here life is not that expensive.
amelia7: I like the Mediterranean area, especially Italy and Greece. Hope to live there in another couple of years. I'll be spending this summer in Greece.
as for weather/climate - We do not that harsh winter as in mainland Europe. It is sunny practically all year round. People are very friendly and helpfull. We have loads of historical places going back to the knights. The economy is sound thanks for the government who always believed that Malta should be part of the European Union. As for quality of life - Poverty here does not exist.
to have cold winter, warm spring, hot summer and windy Autumn ...to have wavy sea, green forest, peace , and freedom.. Its the best place in the world!
