Man Utd wouldn't have won 2 Premier League titles and 1 Champions League trophy in the last 2 seasons without him.

It'll be interesting to see how Man U adjust to life without Ronaldo...

And Madrid will make a lot of money on Ronaldo merchandising. The best player in the world is also rather handsome.

But can you imagine being married to him? Substitute him for another guy and he'd go into a big stroppy sulk.

All you have to do is find 2 million mugs worldwide who'll buy replica Ronaldo shirts at £80 a pop with half that (£40) going to profits and you've got your money back.

He's worth a lot more than £80 million.

Which leads to the obvious question of: who does something for you?

Well it seems he is right now, but after a few seasons at Real he will probably worth nothing just like everyone else who has played for them!!

MAN U will survive without him just like they survived all the others leaving!!!

Is he worth 80 million, hell no

Maybe the man/woman who finds a cure to cancer

OR

Setting up proper housing and food supplies to the needy in Africa

But for kicking a bloody ball around for less than 2 hours, it’s a farce and those who contribute to it are fools IMO.

All footballers should be paid £25,000 per year, with a bonus for each goal their team scores and another if they win the game.

I can see why F1 drivers get high wages, they actually risk their lives for their sport, but even those are way out of line with todays economy, we all need to revalue ourselves and be honest about how much we earn.

OK,here,s the math.Real Madrid paid about 25 million for David Beckham and during the period of his contract he earned for Real Madrid 400 million !!! The president of Real reckons to earn in excess of 500 million with Ronaldo during his contract with them. With Ronaldo on board Real have been able to renegotiate all their sponsorship deals upwards by a great many million.
Ronaldo himserlf will earn sdome thirteen million a year.So where does all that money come from ? Well not just from sponsorship.Merchandising is where its all at,global merchandising.Real Madrid, like Manu,is a highly regarded global brand.Say you jus wanna use a photo of him, fine you can,for megabucks. Is he worth it ? Not to me,course not,but to Real, yes and a lot more besides.

Ronaldo is not the only one milking it. Was reading an interview with Robbie Coltrane the actor and one of the reasons he gave for not going to work in Hollywood is that "...on a big movie one guy gets 32 million dollars, the rest get their busfare" Now that is obscene.Remember that next time you admire Tom Hanks,Cruise, etc.thems the guys geddin the megabucks, all the poor schmucks helping to make em look good are on a packet of crisps a day.dancing
