1....The sun is out
2...It's the weekend
3...You have your health
There has to be people in a worse condition....As for anyone being as Bobert put it ''dead emotionally'...immpossible. You'll always feel some sort of emotion unless you come from the planet Vulcan and your family name is Spock.....
You may feel hate, spite....nasty emotions like those (an countless others) but feeding on them doesn't do anyone any favours especially YOU...Only makes YOU bitter.
Anyone feeling like that, try changing your surroundings even for a couple of hours...or if you cazn afford it a long weekend somewhere. But change your surroundings..

definatly not dead emotionally ...so much going on with me ..my sons.. the love i still have for my pased daughter my work and other family keep my love flowing ... even tho things are hard sometimes its important not to lose track what we have.....

I still can't face cooking for just myself......... had four friends round Thursday night and cooked for them and not cooked since!

I'll agree it's hard to pick yourself up after being 'kicked' in the balls. But just a simple thing like a walk in the park and watching a bunch of kids play footy or putting on a comedy video..Martin and lewis for example...steve martin (I duuno who ever makes you laugh)...
Then there's the old faithfuls, try a new hobby, join a group and meet new people...even go away alone a ball your eyes out and get it out of your system....
There's always a solution to re-charge your batteries...but the thing is to re-charge them and not let them run on empty...

As a child i remember my Father staying in bed for 3 wweks without leaving it once, he ended up in hospital for about 6 weeks.My sister has been on and off anti depressants all her life. Nobody wants to feel this way.
I have had my moments, nut have been lucky enough to pull myself out of it.
I think what you describes works if you are having a down day, but i see depression as much deeper, and it doesn't just go away.
I agree with what ginger said but i think that was on the other thread.
I also think its a word that is often used to lightly, when a person just feels a bit down
I cannot comment on medical depression since i am not that way inclined and have never suffered from it ..but when i have felt down i have found the best way to get out of it is to get out and about mix with people ......keep oneself busy and think of other things outside of oneself

Yup - as long as one avoids too much alcohol (in itself a depressant)!

That`s one of the lovely things with CS .... this big extended family. Sometimes we dont agree with someone, but then we cant all agree with everyone all the time, huh? Its nice to know that here we can just voice our feelings and thoughts, and some-one will respond, without condemnation....
