smoky: Well, they must be very intelligent emotionally strong couple! That is supposed to be what "marriages" are! ... Not baling out when there`s a few hic-cups!... but working thru the problems! You very fortunate to have parents like that!
That's most likely how they did it.thumbs up

In response to: Do you think that an international love relationship can work?

it worked for me until i was widowed-we met and had a few months together-then had an L.D.R. for two years only spending 3 weeks together in that time.he was full Cypriot-and myself English.we did have more difficulty's,and had to give up more as our expectations were different-from the marriage ceremony to the way we wanted to raise our children, and live our daily lives.but we worked everything out and were happier than most couples in our marriage.

smoky: There was a study done on the length of marriages 200 years ago.... And the findings were that the average length of a marriage then was 15 years! The reason was .... one would die .... in childbirth, accidents, diseases, ... and so, because of necessity, the other would re-marry.

Now ..... they still average out at that percentage, but end in divorce. The ODD life-long marriages of 50 to 60 years are just that ...... "Odd" .... and sometimes Perfect Matches of two absolutely nice people?

Two things;there was a study done last year that revealed that the average relationship lasts 18 months at the most;time to meet, get besotted, fall in love, get married, have a child, argue,
fall out, stop speaking, get divorced and hate each other for the rest of your lives.

In the Telegraph at the weekend Photographer David Bailey says that inthe sixties it took three to six months to get someone into bed, these days its three to six minutes, cept in my case it is now some six years.laugh wave
