Little 16 year old upstart!grin Ah ha .. well obviously ..... he doesnt want you guys to "inhibit" him and his friends? They maybe wanna smoke some hash ... get a bit drunk ... get a lot drunk .... swear ...chaff the girls .. make out ...... and they dont want some 40year olds watching them!

Now .. I got this other type of philosophy in life: I was determined that my sons would be Straight-up Honest and Good Citizens ... and the only way to make sure of this ... seeing as kids like to go opposite to their parents .... was for me to be bent so they would be straight. They are so straight sometimes they make me ashamed of myself!

Well, back to your question .... Nein .... tis always me who has to say I`m too old .. thank you, have fun, but leave me out ... I got my own friends.

Perhaps the 16yr old in question might need reminding who is paying for the bash.roll eyes

I do think it disrespectful for actual "uninviting" to have taken place.

No, I have never been told I was too old. The opposite with my son's friends. In fact, my son has been the male equivalentof the daughter in the show "Ab Fab", often rolling his eyes at his mum's behaviour. All in good fun.innocent

Only time I've been 'told' I'm too old is on singles sites such as this where most men my age are looking in the range 30-53, and we all know that the 'top end' is not truly being considered at all.

Boy, now there's a cyber scrap heap, too!cool

thumbs upEXACTLY! Way to go girl Donamontana!

You get some people who seem to feel obliged to "act their age" ... like there`s a set of rules for each decade...?

I also take note of behaviour that pisses others off .... like old people "trying to act young" and prove something to others ... that is ugly, in my opinion .......and stupid. But to have a natural fervour for enjoyment is wonderful .. and others enjoy it. Gives them hope huh? Growing older does not mean growing old ... it means maturing ... like good quality wine, huh? wine

thumbs up Ah ha Venere .. yes, that thought also went thru my head! "He who pays calls the tune"! Hence my remark about "Cheeky".

Ja, you are also correct with the cyba scrap heap of old men on sites calling us "old".......... And now in real life I got a wonderful man, 12years younger than me ......who thinks I`m absolutely fabulous! hahahaaaaaaa

You go girl! Funny isn't it? Most younger men don't think us 'oldies' are the least bit old. I've often resonated better with younger men, too, about 10-12 years younger. The last man I was recently involved with seriously, and who was my age, asked me one day, when I put on some clothes I am totally comfortable in, "Why don't you dress your age?" What the..?doh

I just remembered something a previous, (very gay) hairdresser of mine, back in '96, telling me while discussing change in colour. I wanted to remain in the browns as my hair was naturally dark brown(many times since coloured!), when he blurted:

"Darrrrrrling. You're too OLD to be so dark."

very mad

I got my way on that occasion. Next visit I became blonde!!!uh oh
Next visit, so did he!laugh

My grown up kids are more than happy to take me out for a drink, but I don´t care what any of you say, no 16 year old would really want his parents or adults in that age group at their birthday party.

Absolutely agree. thumbs up

The 16 yr old is neither a child, yet not quite an adult. Course he just wants his own age group there. Don't understand OP's griping!
