On the plus side....Covent Garden was nice to visit and...errrr...well that,s pretty much it really.Had a couple of nice meals,but they were far too expensive.....AND CLOSE THE BLOODY DOOR TOO
Errrrr....despite this rant I did actually have a fantastic trip,but only because I got to see two of my kids,had a great time IN SPITE OF the UK not because of the UK. Kids aprt,it was a bit like going back to a lousy ex only to realise that he or she is even more lousy than you ever thought before.
Let me guess, Elley....ummmm.....you didn't like the UK? 
My son was in London for 7 days in October, for work purposes.
He didn't like it one bit. Horrible food...you know the rest. He's not rushing back. I think, EVER.

plus all of what you guys said, english people are very rude. i was there one year ago and you can get the very sad welcome right from the airpot, crime is all over the place.Ahhh , but that is CIVILIZATION! Now .... you still think the Pygmies in the Rain forests are UN-civilized?

Im so glad I dont live there any more, I dont miss it at all, as soon as the plane lands there im ready to get back home (here in Spain) ... a friend calls it ''United Grimdom''
JAN_is: I was stopped in November at Liverpool Airport because my plastic bag of liquids was an inch too big!! I had to pay for another bag and refill it before they let me through. My Spanish friends/students accompanying me on the trip thought it was hilarious.

Pathetic I agree. However the students had a great time and were impressed with Liverpool.
We spent a frantic three days trying to see all the sights, and we visited museums I´d never seen before when growing up there, so I enjoyed it too.
Our hotel was cheap, but homely with great breakfasts...on Scotty Road Elley.
The last time I fly back home from UK. I forgot to pack a half tube of tooth paste in my case and had left it in my handluggage by mistake. At security I was told to go back to the beginning of the queue and put it into a plastic bag.................Like a plastic bag is going to stop it exploding or whatever they think could happen. I told them if they are worried best to bin, it so they did.
You won't get me moving back there.

I wonder how many billions of pounds or euros of decent law abiding peoples belongings are being effectively stolen (and don,t try to tell me that EVERYTHING confiscated is destroyed,and if it is is that not surely adding to global warming by more stuff having to be produced to replace the stuff being nicked ?)
Fact,these days we are being fleeced by the authorities who try to make out that we are the wrong doers,lyin thievin barstewards.

I travelled through London the other moth (twice) and compared to Sarkoville.;It's dirt cheap..Ok the tube system need a major over haul..but 2.40 for a pint of black stuff..compared to 7 euro's here...Hemp is cheaper..Wages are higher..Weathers crap though

despite all the glam advertising large parts of London,in the centre,are grungy.....the railways now charge you thirty pee to take a pee.....when the lift doors close everybody stops talking....there are very few English people about....the big stations are full of poncy fast food bars,but you still have to eat in the bitterly cold open like herded animals....it is very very expensive.....oh and did I mention the cold.Thankgod I,m back at home in Spain.
Read a story about a man who was prosecuted for blowing his nose whislt sat in his car,engine running,handbrake on,but an idiotic,over zealouse policeman stated that the man was not in control of his stationary vehicle......will the last person out of the uk please switch off the light.
