I need some hints to where are the best places to live in or near Glasgow. My son will be studying at Glasgow Caledonian University and we will be looking at somewhere with train or bus connection to the city centre! I have lived outside of Glasgow many years ago but I do understand that things have changed quite a bit!
I have seen that, but as we both are going, I am looking for a house to rent and as it is difficult to judge whether the region is good to live or not, I was looking for people to tell me which parts are nice. I know for example that Ibrox is pretty run down, in earlier years Easterhouse was a problem zone etc.

Okay, I thought it was only your son who was coming over. Personally Id avoid both of the areas you have mentioned....the west end of Glasgow is a great area to live in and has a high number of students living there....it can be costly though if only one is paying the rent. It really depends what you are looking for...flat, house, something central or further out of town...also budget is a big factor. If you search around and see something that takes your fancy by all means private mail me and I'll let you know my views on the area. Cheers
