When my opening internet page comes up, right above, and intruding into, the space where I type the place I want to go there is some very intrusoive advertising.Yesterday it was Mercedes Benz. They intrude so much into the space it is almost impossible for me to position the the cursor so that I do not click on their stupid ad. Any way I can get rid of this very irritating thing. BTW I used to feel positive about the Merceds brand, now they just piss me off by putting themselves right in my face uninvited.

I get Finnish ads popping up on my CS page. I spose CS has to make some cash to keep going.

But this the main internet opening page. What's more when I am using my hotmail account about one third of the mail, all down the right hand side, is advertising which prevents me from reading that ird of my emails. Sure there is a simple solution.

hi Elley .. as you probably know, you have full control over which page first loads on the Internet depending on which page you choose as your home page - I use google and rarely see any adverts there .. other sites are showing more and more adverts, but I think the only solution is to choose to visit sites that show less .. I have a gmail email account and again don't really see any adverts ..

You can block pop-up windows. I don’t know how – my baby-girl did it on my home computer, and sysadmin at work – but I’m sure there is lot of people that know it and can help with advice.

Elley....

I suspect that the problem with the ads might be with your homepage rather than your browser....

If you are happy with your current browser, then the solution might be a change of your home page....

You can control pop-ups to an extent as follows....

Go to the top of your page and click on "Tools"
Look down the list and you will see "Pop-up Blocker" with an arrowhead giving you the choice to either turn on or turn of your Pop-up Blocker.....

cheers

The other option of course is to have 3 glasses of sarko's finest first. Amidst the squinting, the advertisement will disappear, I promise!

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Thanks Kid. You're a doll!

Hey I have my teaching assistant's sister coming in from the West coast on Thursday. She's bringing me an 'Oh Henry' chocolate bar. I am so excited. I already have my stash of nibs. canada
