Seasons blessed

A bless ed season is here once again
as it has happened for many a year
a pause to reflect or a pause to forget
ills of the past that have pained-
a pause to forgive- its never too late
-for never is a long time for distain

A blessed time of joy
-giving , sharing -receiving good tidings and truth
to look straight ahead,-clear vision - sure
with love from within,-shining - pure
lighting the way, opening doors
of peace for one- for all

And still methinks each year this period arrives
why slot it in only one day
for a birthday is as it implies
the birth of a new day —-

Entering Heaven

An English, Scot's, etc...man died on Christmas Eve and were met by Saint Peter at the pearly gates.

"In honor of this holy season," Saint Peter said, "You must each possess something that symbolizes Christmas to get into heaven."

The English man fumbled through his pockets and pulled out a lighter. He flicked it on. "It represents a candle," he said. "You may pass through the pearly gates," Saint Peter said.

The Scots man reached into his pocket and pulled out a set of keys. He shook them and said, "They're bells." Saint Peter said, "You may pass through the pearly gates."

The Irish man started searching desperately through his pockets and finally pulled out a pair of women's glasses.

St. Peter looked at the man with a raised eyebrow and asked, "And just what do those symbolize?"

The Irish man replied, "They're Carol's."
