I sometimes miss having a conversation in which you can use the regular expressions or references you grew up with that only people from your part of the world really understand.

...And I miss the 24/7 shopping

...And I miss the less-crowded cities

But I do love it in the Netherlands nonetheless.

Blowing up ATM`s to get some ready cash ...

hi-jacking cars in the search for the perfect auto .......

Those sirens that go off when you open your front door and forget to put in the code within the allotted time and the armed response arrives and arrests you for being in your own house cause you forgot the latest pass-word ......

...... Barking dogs as the little children try to sing Christmas Carols in the streets ......

Mistaking gun shots for fire-crackers .....

Life is just TOO peaceful here!

Miss family and friends

Food - in Singapore, I could get food at 4am or 5am. Never go hungry.

The warm weather and sunshine.

Not sure where my home is, but I do really miss the warmth and hospitality from the people, where the rule of "beware of stranger" is not really applied...

Freshly made ice tea at restaurants.

Going out for authentic Tex Mex food made with fresh ingredients and correctly. (I can make it myself, but it's impossible to get fresh jalapenos, corn tortillas, or tomatillos here.)

sigh
