I don't believe in any god, I don't need a Christ, or a Bhudda or anyone to choose to attempt to be a decent person (I fail sometimes, don't we all). But, whilst I still consider myself a spiritual person, I would still call myself an Athiest, yes!

Well, I look at it this way ...... No-one has ever been able to prove or disprove the existance of God ....... so I`d rather gamble on Him being there, than have a big surprise one day......
And then another thing ..... How does anyone measure what is "right" and what is "wrong" in behaviour ....? ... if there is nothing to measure it against?
With NOTHING ..... we may as well all just be raving beasts and lunatics, taking what we want, when we want it ..... maiming and killing anything or anyone who gets in our way... and enjoy our own selfishness.
Why do we all have a "consciousness" of decent behaviour? Where do we think it came from? Did it somehow grow with us through our evolution out of the mud?
Who or what instilled instinctive behaviour into wild creatures..?..amd Why?
Also, how sad that most people have never had any "supernatural" experiences that can prove to them there is a Higher Intelligence than our own earth bound one.
