Been a long time since I posted anything on EU Forum (kept busy in IE Forums these days) but wonder what ye would make of the following:

(From the book "Getting the Love you want")

Some biologists content that there is a very predictable logic to who we chose to fall in love with. According to their view, men are instinctively drawn to women with features that indicate robust health and childbearing ability - clear skin, bright eyes, shiny hair, good bone structure, red lips and rosy cheeks. Women however are instinctly drawn to men with the ability to feed and provide for their women and kids, more than for their beauty or youth.

Their "theory" (not mine, ok !) seeks to explain why the ugly but wealthy successful businessman is more likely to land a trophy wife.

Well, your thoughts !

I have many thoughts on this one...

And I will come back to it later.

Gender is there however much we think it is not.

I like a man to be a man and for me to be a woman.

I do want a person that will check my tyres, fill my car with petrol and will understand and hopefully appreciate the time spent with my children...

I am not looking for a man to provide for me, but for a person that I can build a future with, stability, in a stable environment I am a healthy person and I lead a stable existence with some excitement thrown in here and there...

Cultures make a difference too...

And however wealthy a man is, if I do not feel that I can drag him up the stairs every night, then it just aint my bag.

I think it is a fading thing with women looking for someone to take care income, as they increasingly have their own career.

Hopefully in my case, she fell for me because of my great gene pool laugh

She do not need anyone to feed her, that's for sure.

Gillie: But I guess there are always women who want more, as there are men who will always want a trophy by his side.

I want my wife to always feel as a "trophy" by my side,
and I wish for all married men to feel that way laugh

The wind have changed, the last generation of men has no second thoughts of being in a relation with a women older than him. The society at large has started to become comfortable with the concept and it will be no more than maybe 10 years before the issue has become a non-issue.

In my generation the views are still split on the subject, but I see guys 10 years younger than me date women 15 years older than them.

Could this finally be the revenge we have waited for? "She left me for a younger blond hunk moping crying "

Now this I like...

I like a man who will say 'Darling, wear the blue dress tonight, you look stunning in that' I will go and wear the blue dress... Yet when I have had these discussions with some women, their faces twitch and they say 'I would never let a man tell me what to wear'

The debates we have had about it, over 37 glasses of wine...

Romantic attraction? Does this mean that a person wants to jump into bed with the person or does it mean that they want to get to know them?

I want to feel a trophy at the side of my man, I want to him to feel as though he has got first prize, I want that and I want to make him feel like that too.

The romantic attration bit for me comes when we are dancing under the stars cheek to cheek, then we rip each others clothes off and tumble wherever we want...

Is that what it is?

Coz it is for me!

Sommerauer71: I never ask if my butt looks fat... I know it isn't.

Some people confuse confidence with being powerful and some people confuse 'needing' a person as being needy.

I am pretty confident as a person, but get me with a man who looks into my eyes all night with that 'look' and I melt like an ice cream left on the dashbord on a hot day...

I like a man to go shopping with me, I never complain if he does not want to, but if he complains when we are out as soceity suggest that men sit in the changing room 'yes darling, you look lovely' just for a quiet life, I would send him packing, I want my guy to go shopping and call me from the undies shop and say, 'I have the assistant trying on a beautiful two piece for you, she looks great and you will too, when I get home and make you try it on'

Now that is romantic attraction... Being clever with a mind, not feeling resentful that your partner has asked you to do things...

Hi sommer

I want to be a trophy husband! grin batting smoking hole

Heck, if she tells me to wear 'whatever' because I look less like the slob inside wanting to burst out.....it's easier to say:

'Yes, darling'

Changing a shirt or tie is less hassle than causing friction because you have no style (but don't know it!).

Indeed - a wise man has a peaceful life; to ensure a peaceful life a wise man has learnt the expression:

'Yes darling!'

However, if you DON'T wish to go out - then please insist on wearing your favourite shirt with a missing button and frayed collar.....she shall then be forced to rip it off your back with the result you'll end up engaging in passionate love - the choice is your's!

No, there are certain things I will not tolerate, you know white socks unless you have been palying tennis, but on the whole, I could not give a toss if he was dressed in a sack...

I do care for my clothing, I do. As for white socks... have not got any. All other colours apart from red or any pastell variant (the 80's are over).

She have good taste and like to add a bit of eye catcher in her set ups, she is Romanian and there it does count. It fits me and I enjoy it.

rolling on the floor laughing You`re a very practical lady! Of course, the "illlusion" of money also aids the Romantic Attraction!

A scruffy un-groomed person slopping along the pavement lugging plastic bags of groceries aint half attractive as the guy/girl wearing good quality clothing and well-groomed, slinging their shopping into a Porche.............rolling on the floor laughing

What many have said already.

The key to deciphering the mystery of romantic attraction is to demystify the concept of romance.

It’s small, simple things. It will always be small, simple things.
