THought I was going to die off my horse once....I became very afraid for a few then peace....now thinking back it doesn't really matter what you're doing...might as well do what you like to do....
I can relate to that ... when ever I am feeling down I just head to the stables and I am in a good mood in no time at all ... Horses have that ability to shatter the gloomy cloud that can suround us, preventing us from seeing the beauty of the sun and the sky
I was on one by 3yrs and riding my 4years ... I took my ton on top with me when he was under a year and he loved it... He is an accomplished rider today
Dear Azcowpuncher That is the saddest story I have ever heard ... but the life with horses is a far safer one than getting into a car/truck and driving on the roads ...
Be happy for the times you had together doing what you both loved most .. What we all tend to forget, is that life is short, and we waste far too much time and not spending our time enjoying life and living it to its fullest ...
I think, one day when its my time, I want it to happen when i am doing something I love, so I can at least go out with a smile on my face....
Hi everyone, I'm new to this :) I'm a veterinary intern, living in Mexico, in the process of getting my degree. Initially when I started Vet school I had the idea that I wanted to specialize in cats & dogs, but over the years, and especially when I took one class in particular (Equine medicine), I fell in love with horses. Now I want to dedicate my life to them. This is just my way of intruducing myself to this site and to you, horse lovers. Hope to meet extraordinary people :)
Thank you for your symipathy,I apperiate the thought. Most of us that work with horses, sometimes forget the danger. So be careful, and don't take for granted any horse.I had to rethink things, about getting on these problem horses. Now I find myself riding much more aleart. Cindy's grand son want's to take up the farrier trade.I've been working with him,and he's doing well, going to make a good hand. She would be proud of him.
How are you? Mmm, i am very sorry to hear about this incident. The way you explained off meeting Cindy, working with her and making plans. Then all of this taken away. I really wish you all the best because it is a big thing you have to work thru and if you ever want to chat or get something off your chest then just let me know.
As i am quit new to CS and have been looking around a little bit and then i did run into groups and if alright i would love to see what happens here and learn from it. I have currently 2 horses myself, little afraid to ride but maybe in the future. When i spoke to a friend off mine, who lives in Denmark, he has several pony's and his daughters ride on them. He wanted to show his girls something on the internet and it was about the economy in Ireland, this affected many people and people with horses as well. What happened was that many people had released their horse in the wild because they couldn't pay for food and vet bills anymore. This happened just before winter and many of the horses where starving and died, the number where big, at least 10000 have been released. When you think of this then it would be great to show people what comes with it to have a horse, so instead of the horse suffering why not teach people about it and really the young ones as well. Love to hear what your thoughts are.
I meet my match on this site.We fell in love, and started planning our future. She had started to work be side me wanting to learn horse shoing, and getting involved in the business with me.She loved it,and worked real hard to learn all that she could. We took in outside horses to ride, for training, and correcting problem horses. She was a great rider haveing rode race horses, and tacking care of a cow camp on a remote Arizona cattle ranch. Such a woman,a cowboys dream come true. On Sunday 3-6-11 we were riding out together when the horse she was riding for no reason that I could see laid the death drop on her,and ended her life. you all new her as Perttynsweet. Her name was Cindy You never know what is in a horses mind so be careful out there, and God bless.
The horse is my think'in place. When I get into an argument with my wife who no longer needs me except for a hired hand.I have a place to go instead of the fight going on and on. I go out to the horses. I have one who lays his head on my shoulder and listens until i'm done. Fine friend indeed
