The Lego Movie (2014)

Emmett is just an ordinary mini figure. He wakes up each morning and does his exercises, reads his instruction manual, and heads to the local coffee shop to buy a cup of overpriced coffee. When he's done with his coffee, Emmett goes to work. Each day is exactly the same, but he doesn't seem to mind. After all, Emmett believes that everything is awesome. Viewers will quickly realize, however, that just because the song, "Everything is Awesome," plays throughout the film, things are not all perfect in Emmett's Lego world.

While working late one night, Emmett discovers a mystery stranger at the construction site. When he goes to confront her about her unexpected presence, he accidentally falls into a hole and discovers the Piece of Resistance: a powerful weapon that can be used to defeat Lord Business, the villain of the film. With his plastic piece in hand, Emmett embarks on the journey of a lifetime to discover whether or not he's as special as he thinks that he is.

The Lego Movie is a film designed for anyone who loves Lego bricks and for anyone who wants to be someone important. Kids of all ages will appreciate the humor and jokes in the movie, but they'll also be able to relate with Emmett's search for wonder. Throughout the movie, Emmett struggles with the belief that he isn't really important. He constantly questions his value, as do the people around him.

After Emmett finds the Piece of Resistance, he travels with his new friend, Wild Style, to try to defeat Lord Business. The two discover that Lord Business secretly plans to destroy the world with super glue on Taco Tuesday, so they decide to try to stop him even though it sounds like a crazy plan. Together, they prove that anyone can be special if you just believe in yourself.

This movie is full of car chases and on-the-spot creating that Lego users of all ages will enjoy.
