The wet-brained movie reviewers COMPLETELY missed the whole concept of this film, and it didn't do so well at the box office as a result.
The cast are reunited 20 years on, 20 years older, picking up the storyline exactly where it left off in Trainspotting 1. But the artistry and finesse of the writing means the whole backstory is revealed within the first few scenes, so you don't have to have seen the first movie to get it.
It's even better than the first one, IMHO. Tremendous cinematography. Director Danny Boyle
