In a decrepit South American village, four men are hired to transport an urgent nitroglycerine shipment without the equipment that would make it safe.

In the South American jungle supplies of nitroglycerin are needed at a remote oil field. The oil company pays four men to deliver the supplies in two trucks. A tense rivalry develops between the two sets of drivers and on the rough remote roads the slightest jolt can result in death.

One of the most intense movies I have ever seen... It was in fact the first film I remember seeing as a child, absolutely scared the hell out of me... But years later I saught it out on DVD, and have to say, it's still a white knuckle ride of a film...
Long on exposition and character development, but that serves the narrative and sets the tone for the remaining two thirds of the film....
Never in a million years is this a date movie, but once seen it will stay with you for the rest of your cinema viewing days...
