For those who like 'Gangster and Mobster' type movies this would have to be one of the best ever, and yet it was never popular, infact most people had never heard of it. With Robert De Niro and James Woods as the leading characters, it goes at lenght to show how they grew up in the Bronx in a Jewish district in petty crime and always moving into bigger things. In the second part of the movie the bad boys have grown up and have now become real gangsters. Must stop here,...... but for those who enjoyed the likes of the 'god father,' this one is in a different league altogheter, but it is still a MUST SEE

although its a gangster movie and yes its crude although sergio leone does it very tastefully, its basically a story of friendship through the years and how money, power and women change a relationship between men. Best part is when the young boy is so hungry that he eats the sweet rather than have sex very poignant and true to life situation where hunger overrides everything else even sex!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sergio Leone tells a story of one man's journey through life. De Niro is marvelous. Ennio Morricone music is superb! The brilliance of three gorgeous men joins together to create a masterpiece. One of my favourite movies!
