flashback 1990 . starring dennis hoper and kiefer sutherland .

hopper plays a sort of renegade from the 60s hippy and biker area . his character was well known in the 60s but by 1990 he felt that he had been forgotten , so he intentionally arranged that he be caught and arrested . the point being that he would now be back in the news and known again , and also he had a book he was writing so wanted the publicity .

previously the fbi had had agents handling hoppers character who had failed in their duty as one way or another hopper either escaped or the let him go . so the now top fbi guy was determine to put an agent on the case who hopper simply could not charm or escape from . enter the very uptight , dare i say it an*l character played by kiefer sutherland .

all sutherland has to do is transport hoppers character by train , take him from A to B and thats it . simple enough right ? WRONG lol . hopper pretty much immediately gets going on sutherlands character who is a tough nut to crack . this movie is great comedy from start to end , and some great acting by two of our finest . who better to play huey here than the late great dennis hopper ? who was a star of easy rider . and a fine actor , who could play comedy , serious drama and even crazies with equal brilliance .

in one scene aboard the train hopper is trying to goad the very an*l character of sutherland and he cracks a great line . hopper looks at him and says son you seem like a practitioner of safe sex , in fact you like like a practitioner OF NO SEX lol . in another scene with sutherland on the train with a little slight of hand he cons sutherland into believing that he has just been slipped a few acid tabs . sutherland fell for it with hillarious results lol .

in comedy classic terms id rate this movie personally right up there with the best comedy movies then and since . if you havent seen it YOU NEED TO . if you enjoy a good laugh give it a try .
